I truly wish you (Capt John Stout) the best. My self and my family always loved to listent to Porter and Stout at the faire.
You seem to be handling the situation as a professional so on a personal level...
Put this person on one end of a scale and all the people that care about you on the other end then revel in the amount of friends you have and push depression aside.

I haven't had a chance to comment yet. Well, I have, but I need a certain amount of time to actually frame my thoughts as I post them, and I didn't want to just give a quick comment.
I find it to be very sad, that one individual can do so much to hurt 2 very good people. Even if this person does have an issue with Richard, what does it say that they are willing to take Vinny down too, just to get to Richard? Very sad indeed.
I wish both gentlemen well. I hope the future shines on both of them, and perhaps, if it is meant to be, we will see a reunion in the future.
To the individual causing all of this. I hope they get what is coming to them.

I am so sorry that the act had to break up. I have always looked forward to seeing Porter and Stout at GLMF. I will miss the 3 of you (to me Jenny is also part of P&S) I wish all of you the success that you so rightly deserve. And after this mess has been resolved I hope we will one day be rewared by having you perform again at GLMF. Richard please try and fight the depression you feel and know you have many friends who care for and love you. I will keep you in my prayers. The person who is doing this to the both of you should remember that what goes around comes around and when it does it usually bites you in the ass. I truly believe she will recieve all she has dished out.

The few always ruin things for the many, it's always been that way and it most likely will always be that way. Another enjoyable thing for the many has been eliminated. Sorry to see this happen to nice people, maybe at some point we all will see the Porter and Stout act together again.

I heard recently that GLMF is not going to open this year. I am hoping that's probably just a rumor, however, I am now posing the question, is this fact and not just rumor?
I noticed that no one talks about next year, what acts will be here, (and Axel did start earlier than last March with naming acts). I'm wondering if people on the board are more "in the know" than anyone else, is it true there will be no festival this year?

That is just a rumor. GLMF *will* be opening this year.
We just had our first round of auditions this weekend and will finish up next weekend.
So no worries ^.^

Actually, it wasn't until early March last year when Axel started posting info. As for no discussion, I did start a thread about it tay666.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=glmf&action=display&thread=2233With info I have glened from performers websites so far. (most don't have info that far ahead yet) Audition info has been posted for quite some time now. And soon, I am sure a "Site Preparation" thread will start up. For those who want ot volunteer to come out and help get the faire grounds in shape for the upcoming season. The dates for this year are on the officail site, and have been for quite some time now. So, I am sure there will be a 2010 season.

Yes, the faire is opening this year. We are selling tickets and have been since we closed last year.
Auditions were held this past Friday and Saturday and will be held again next Friday and Saturday so if anyone wants to audition please make sure you get in touch with Sara. More information is on the website.
Operation Avaloch volunteers will start up sometime in April, weather permitting.
Hope this helps calm everyone.
See you all soon.

Thank you everyone. I thought it was a rumor, and I know more than just I heard this. My family and I are happy to hear it was rumor, and we will do our best to set anymore rumors straight.

Yeah. I have heard people around here in Conneaut make comments like that for several months now. I have been setting them straight whenever I hear it.
I think much of it comes from all the publicity over the trustee situation last season.

I have heard this same rumor for the past 10 years that I have been around not just about our faire but also about other faires. Remember the old saying believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. People have nothing better to do with their lives. People will always start a rumor about something.
Things have been moving as usual for the faire.

I hope we get the same people back from last year. Lady Ophelia's dance, The Jousters, King Arthur and the combat chess. Does anyone know if they are coming back and what the theme is?

Hello all. The basics are this: someone posted on the Porter & Stout guestbook about a week or so ago basically saying that I was a disappointing stage presence and that I should leave the group. As for now, Porter & Stout will be no longer. This whole experience has left me very depressed, and very hurt. I don't know what would possess someone to go so far as to do such damage to a person to cause him the loss of a career, but that is what this person has done, and is what this person intended to do, as they were so evident in doing in the content of the one letter I have so far read. Until then I ask for your support, your thoughts, your kind words, and more than anything else your understanding. You have all become very good friends to me, and I appreciate everything you have done. Rest assured that no matter what comes to pass, you will see my face upon the streets of Avaloch. Thank you, and I hope to see you very soon. Forgive the chop of your post Richard. This is very hard for me. You, my friend, are part of my GLMF family and a well of love for cast members and visitors alike. All my best to you in you quest to right these wrongs. My thoughts are with you, and my spirit will follow you until I see you again. Don't give us up, we need you to be with us. Mitch
