Nothing posted yet. IF I get all the tax stuff done, maybe this weekend I will go through the performers websites and see which ones show as being scheduled for GLMF this summer. That's usually what gets the ball roling anyway. It's still early yet, and I am sure there is plenty of negotiations going on right now. I just checked. He started giving out info on March 3rd last year. tay666.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2009&action=display&thread=2200

OMG Trevor your earlier post was so funny! I will always call them Emuzeki too! Just like I still call the Mellon Arena the Civic Arena, The USX Tower - the Steel building, the First Niagara Paviliion (which was also the Post Gazette AND and the Coca Cola pavillion - I still call it the Star Lake Ampitheater. ;D
Sadly though, I just learned today that Porter and Stout are performing together for the last time on St. Patricks day. So they will not be back. So sad.

Porter & Stout..... Richard wrote on his Face Book that after the St. Pat's Day show they are breaking up.
I do not have the details. It has something to do with letters being written to different venues about Richard's professionalism and conduct.
No idea what they are talking about. I have always liked Richard.
But because of this, Vinny had to "leave" Richard. Vinny makes his living at shows. He has other shows besides Porter & Stout. He had to think about his other shows and other workers.
That is what I got from the Face book post. That is how I took it. if I am wrong, PLEASE CORRECT ME.
Maybe I will cut and paste later.

Yeah, I don't think anyone saw this coming. Elaborating on what Kat wrote... Going by what Richard posted Facebook, there's someone out there who has something against him (sounds like an awful lot like a personal vendetta to me), has been posting malicious stuff online and sending letters out to various faires making negative comments about Richard's conduct and professionalism. This is all that was revealed, don't know who this person/people are, whether it's a personal/professional situation or both, or any other details. From what I got from his post, these letters are having some kind of negative effect, and that's why Vinny has to move on. I really find the situation disturbing, that someone who obviously has an issue with a person can basically start a slanderous campaign and impact that person's career. I'm totally bummed, I enjoyed seeing Porter & Stout at TNRF & GLMF. I hope this situtation gets resolved, but there's gonna be a big hole at faire this summer.

Greetings All! In response to some recent postings on the "Porter & Stout" guestbook, as well as to some letters recently sent to venues where "Porter & Stout" are scheduled to perform, including bars, clubs and even renaissance faires, I wanted to voice my personal opinion. First, let me say thank you to all who have supported us over the years. Your attending our shows, purchasing our music, love and support have been wonderful and most appreciated. The recent outpouring of support for myself is truely wonderful. However, the issue has gotten way out of hand. As much as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, the posts and letters to presenters have become hurtful, both personally and professionally. As much as favorable comments are appreciated, the negative comments directed at Richard are now costing us (me) much needed work and the money that comes with it. I ask that whoever is responsible for the posts and letters, please stop. Your opinion is important to me, but I do not believe that posting your personal hatred, in a public forum, is the way to go. If there are issues that you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me through e-mail or phone. I would be happy to discuss any problems or issues with you. If "Porter & Stout's" live performances are the problem, we can discuss it. In this economy, people cannot afford to lose any work, myself included. This is my business...this is how I make my living. I cannot lose work as a result of someones personal hatred or dislike of a business associate. Therefore, I have no choice but to remove myself from "Porter & Stout". As of March 18th., 2010, I will no longer be a part of the group. I will continue to perform as "Droolin' Jack" Porter, but in other productions. For those interested, you will find information on all of my work on my website at www.vincentmagic.com. Once again, I thank you for your support. I ask that everyone please support live entertainment and please, please do not use a public forum as a vehicle for personal vendetta and hatred. We believe that we know who the individual is, since the letters were all postmarked in Baltimore, MD AND we have traced the e-mail ID from the posts to the same person. No names here, but rest assured this evil woman (yes woman) will be brought to justice! All my very best wishes for peace, joy, love and happiness, Vinny ("Droolin' Jack" Porter)

This is so sad! Our whole family enjoys Porter and Stout and our little girls absolutely adore them! I am sure the vicious person behind such hateful and cowardly actions will get what's coming to her!

So, because this petty, shallow, self absorbed.....(insert word of choice here)...has a problem with Richard...the rest of us also have to suffer and see one of our favorite musical acts disband? WTF???! I can't see why Larry would have a problem with still having "Porter and Stout" at GLMF...he knows the act..it's not like they aren't a group he hasn't dealt with before...and surely he should see that more people count on seeing them at GLMF and that this is all a bunch of personal sabatoge... This all sucks bilge water, big time...

It's really not up to Larry about hiring back Porter and Stout if Vinny has decided not to continue to be a member of Porter and Stout.
He can't hire the act back if half the act does not wish to be part of the group again.
As for Richard, I'm sure he's working on some sort of plan for the upcoming season, it may be a new act it may be something else.
Either way, I'm certain there is more involved in this than what is being posted and it's not our business as to exactly why they opted to split. Best wishes to them both and hopes to cross paths often in the future.

Hello all.
I haven't yet replied on this because I am still reeling over this whole situation.
The basics are this: someone posted on the Porter & Stout guestbook about a week or so ago basically saying that I was a disappointing stage presence and that I should leave the group.
After researching somewhat, and further postings on the guestbook, I banned the IP addresses this person was using to post negative material on my professional website.
This person escalated the campaign against me to writing letters to what now seems to be every venue that was posted on our current schedule and the faires we have performed at in the past. These letters went further than just negative opinions, and became legally libelous and defamatory of my character.
I am still gathering information and evidence on these issues.
As for now, Porter & Stout will be no longer. What my future with the Great Lakes Medieval Faire is I am not certain. I would still care to perform there, but I still have yet to speak with anyone from the staff concerning either my performance options, or whether they too recieved such a letter.
This whole experience has left me very depressed, and very hurt. I don't know what would possess someone to go so far as to do such damage to a person to cause him the loss of a career, but that is what this person has done, and is what this person intended to do, as they were so evident in doing in the content of the one letter I have so far read.
I have not revealed any names in the indicated party, as this matter is still under investigation, and until such time as action will be taken and resolved, that is unfortunately how is must remain. To do otherwise would be unethical and unprofessional.
Until then I ask for your support, your thoughts, your kind words, and more than anything else your understanding. You have all become very good friends to me, and I appreciate everything you have done. Rest assured that no matter what comes to pass, you will see my face upon the streets of Avaloch.
Thank you, and I hope to see you very soon.
