(note to Britny - we really have to introduce Phedre and Leah. The results should be 'interesting' )

(note to Britny - we really have to introduce Phedre and Leah. The results should be 'interesting' ) I think that's an understatement. Callista, he's always causing trouble.

I know he's always causing trouble.
I don't know how in the world you deal with him. ^_^

Since other people are showing their costumes, I've decided to show mine (and Dave's). Picture was taken this year at the Western PA Fairie Festival. We'll be changing up our looks once in a while, but this gives ya'll an idea of what we look like in garb. Though I'm sure most of you have seen David before. He's kind of hard to miss. LOL.

Does anyone here have, or use to own, a pair of boots from renboots?
I just bought a pair, and though they're quite shiny and nice right now, I know by the end of the run, they won't be.
Any tips on how to clean/polish them?
I'm a newbie to the boots. I had tie up sandals the years before.

The pair I'm wearing in the above picture is from Renboots. Bought them last year. The guy told me to just use a soft washcloth and warm water to wipe them down with, but I took the liberty to add some spray on waterproofing made just for leather shoes to make sure that they're protected on rainy days. To shine them up a bit, I just used a soft shoe brush so it wouldn't hurt the leather. The guy (Steve, I think his name is) said that polishing shouldn't be necessary...

If you can get your hands on some leather cleaner or saddle soap that will clean and shine them up very nice also.

A word of warning: Be careful and do your research when ordering footwear. Even though something looks great, it may not hold up. I bought a pair of leather boots from Museum Replicas last year (who I've been happy with concerning past purchases) and they're already falling apart.

Thats why I ordered from Renboots. I know a LOT of people that have them, and swear by them. And I trust my faire family more than my own in certian aspecs.
Plus, I got the boots on a clearance. They were making room for a new style. Didn't end up paying an arm and a leg for them. And they look fantastic ^_^

good thing you didn't pay a leg for them or your wouldn't have needed a pair of boots.

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get rid of a few articles of faire garb.
These include: a plum pirate shirt, an off-white chemise, and a simple white lady's shirt.
If anyone's interested, please PM me and we will work out some sort of deal from there, including the prices. Also, I may be getting rid of a few other items later on, which includes a black and green corset that I'll sell for no less than $150. That's a deal, considering that I've only worn it a few times and I paid twice as much for it...
