Hey Phedre....J.R. tells me you're coming over for supper tomorrow night. That be true? If so, bring your dress and your camera, DUH! Somebody here can surely snap a picture of you that you can put up on the board. HANK.
Trevor....Where the hell are you buying work boots for 30 bucks?? I don't believe even your "favorite" store, the Evil Empire sells em that cheap. I will be needing a new pair one of these days so I'm curious. HANK.

Despite how much I'm loathe to admit it I am very good friends with the Evil Empire, considering it happened to be the only 24 hr place to go and I happen to only get things done in the middle of the night. I always got my work boots there when I worked at the shop the past few summers (miss that job). I got mine for $20, but the average price was $25. (Yeah there were more expensive ones too, but nobody NEEDS those ones.)

Trevor....Where the hell are you buying work boots for 30 bucks?? Kmart runs sales all the time on Texas Steer boots. The biggest problem is that most of their selection is the steel-toed boots. Which I don't wear.

DAMN!!! I must not be shopping in the right places. My last pair of work shoes I got (Red Wings, steel toed) I paid over a hundred bucks for. Tell me Trevor, how do those Texas Steers hold up for you, cuz every pair I or anyone I know had lasted about six months and then they fell apart.
One job I had the company required Steel Toes and they would pay for ONE pair a year. I would buy Red Wings, or Wolverines and get 4 or 5 years out of them. The guys who bought the cheap stuff were buying the next pair themselves in 3 or 4 months. Now! The working conditions in the shop were brutal. It was a heat treating place, so you had hot oil and other chemicals about which would eat up leather. I, on the other hand was mostly out of the plant driving truck, picking up and delivering the parts so maybe that helped with the longevity of my shoes. I don't know.
I know that I will spend money for good shoes, especially if you're "living" in them all day, cuz if your feet are comfortable, you're comfortable. HANK

They last me about a year. But I don't wear them other than to work.

i3.photobucket.com/albums/y91/Tamuril41788/P1010247.jpg well, here it is. I can't figure out how to get it other than sideways, and it won't show up when i try to put it as an image, so just click the link. It's sideways everywhere but in the programs on the computer in which i can edit it, so go figure. If you do the exaggerated rapper head pose it should look mostly normal though. *cocks head at 45 degree angle* there. better.

*as afterthought* hey nyneve, any suggestions on what to use as a belly drape for the bra? I'd been thinking a kuchi pendant or just getting a necklace and attaching it at the middle and the ends, but i'm not sure.

My mom and I picked it out months ago at a JoAnns' sale, after the bride told me the colors her wedding party would be wearing (groomsmen in blue/brown, bridesmaids in green). I wanted mine to coordinate with my husband's garb, but not look like a bridesmaid. Thank goodness I didn't start cutting and sewing right away, since the bride recently had a mild wig-out..... But she's ok now, so its all good! (I've already finished a drawstring pouch that matches, too....either for me to wear and carry my camera, or for the best man to carry the wedding rings....)

*grin* thanks babe. My bridemaids dress for my mum's wedding and one of my prom dresses were in shantung. I love it. I can't wait to see it! it should be beautiful. Oh, and thanks for figuring that one out trevor. My mum's computer a little screwy, and she has about five editing programs on it...its wonky. *grin* and i don't look evil anymore! yay!
