Don't know much about this one. Just that the website is up, and it is only about an hour away from me. I know I heard about it during the discussions of the death of Medieval Majesty. (not that they are related in any way. Just that they both are in PA) Hope to check it out this year. www.wildroserenfaire.net/

I saw this listed in the faire directory of the latest Renaissance Magazine so it must be official. Many of the Pittsburgh folk are planning to attend at least 1 or 2 weekends. Fall garb for sure. Opening weekend coincides with closing weekend of the new Pittsburgh Faire, so a majority will attaned after that.

Opening coincides with Pittsburgh's closing weekend.. The next weekend, October 6, coincides with the Halloween Party.
Big push for October 13/14 mayhaps?

Since our Pittsburgh invasion of Maryland is off, maybe we can get a group together on this weekend to travel north. We'll discuss at the pub this weekend. If I can remember....

Hrmm.. We'll have to do some more scouting for places to stay and such.. From what I understand hotels aren't exactly close, and we don't want to do the tent thing in October.
Once we get that sorted out,l we'll figure out carpooling. (For me, because I have some friends in the area if there aren't other decent accomodations, and couch space may be a little limited..)

Bunnie gave me a print out of the directions last night! You gotta be frackin kidding me: Get on route 6 and take it toward!! toward what?? After the fork, our place is the fourth house on the left! Where is this being held, in someones back yard And I thought SwordSchoolGroupie was bad at giving directions! I luv ya Rox, but your direction giving skills do leave a little to be desired! After seeing the printout, I almost HAVE to go, just to find out where this place is! Admission is cheap enough, and it is basically just a "day trip" for us. there and back. Might be a pleasant weekend diversion. HANK.

Well, you can always use the faire's address to do an online map. Looks like a little over an hour for us. IF I have transportation by then

I, well actually Bunnie took your suggestion about the on line map. And as we discussed earlier in some other thread, that was just a total waste of time. It showed a BIG RED STAR right in the middle of Route 6, which I'm sure some people would interpret as being the faire location. IT IS NOT!! Once you get onto Route 957 there does not seem to be any "fork" in the road. The only thing I would interpret as a "fork" is the Route 6 and 957 split.
I also like the part about "go thru the Corrythe evil empire!! Like what do you mean, drive thru the service bays?? and drive thru the middle of Crotty Chevrolet!?!?
These directions sound like the way to Lil Red Riding Hoods grand mothers house! "Over the hill and thru the woods to grandma's house we go!" Now! I can probably find the place, but after 25 years of driving truck I can find damn near anything after being given some of the screwiest damn directions you ever saw. You can't imagine how many companies there are that have NO damn idea where they are located! (right KAT?) but for the average directionally challenged person, well I wish em luck with this one. HANK.
P.S. Trevor....Don't know for sure just what day we might be going, I'm thinking the first weekend (Sept 29/30) but Bunnie and I need to talk it over. So maybe if your car problems are not fixed by then we can swing by and pick you guys up, hell, you ain't that much out of our way. We can just run 90 East to 6N and take it from there.

About the driving through the car dealer. I am assuming that the dealership takes up a bunch of space on both sides of the road. So it would be like drving through the middle of it.

usaually I'm pretty good about writing down directions in great detail with the smaller possible chance of error.... I just can't remember some of the road names because no one ever bothers to put signs up out in the sticks.... Funny though - I rarely get lost.
