Just returned home from Wild Rose. A nice little faire to be sure. Small, but with a wonderful intimate ambiance to it. It was a 97 mile drive from home ( I set my trip odometer) thru some beautiful scenery in rural PA. The only "BAD" thing was the cool temperatures and at time a very strong wind that would really make you cold and threatened to blow some tents over. They only had two stage acts. Pester the jester, who was one of the Tinkers at GLMF was on stage performing as well as a guy and girl pirate show that performed some fire eating, sword swallowing, and whip tricks. At their first show Pirate Dave, Jen, Bunnie and I were the whole audience so we all had fun bantering back and forth and the show was almost like having a few friends do their show at a party at your house.
I think there were more people there from the GLMF area and Pittsburgh area than there were locally. We got to know the folks who put the faire on. They have been to GLMF as patrons and were most happy that we saw fit to come all that way to take part in their little endeavor. As this faire grows, and I hope it does as they have a beautiful location, with room to expand it will be well worth seeing even if just for a weekend or two.
Best of luck to em. HANK.

Well, Morwyn and I got lost somehow going to the faire which delayed our arrival by 45 minutes. There were not as many vendors and performers as were advertised on the faire's website. I guess they just didn't bother to show up. The site was gorgeous with a scenic view of the surrounding hills and colorful fall trees. I nearly broke out iin song "The hills are alive! With the sound of music." But oh the wind! I don't think the temps broke 50 degrees either. I only took 2 photos - here they are:

The Wild Rose Ren Faire will be up and running again this year. Dates are Weekends October 3 to October 18. First weekend is fantasy, I believe 2nd is pirate and 3rd will be the SCA weekend. Would love to see some of you back again this year.

It is most definitely a good time. The cast and crew are a lot of fun. The sight is beautiful and currently being improved. Hope to see you there in October, but we'll see you at Great Lakes first.

I was a vendor last year at Wild Rose. It's a new faire so still growing but it's a lot of fun and the people are great!

Sir Galahad/Nelson and I will be attending . It looks fun, I love Italian renaissance gowns, and PA is oh so close . If you can, Trevor, change the website url in the first post. It's now www.wildroserenfaire.net instead of .com.
