Went and saw Godzilla today!
Was a really good movie. Not quite the Godzilla movie I was hoping for, but very well done.

Saw it yesterday. Was a tad different, Godzilla is the "good guy" in this one. I like how they "tied in" the 1954 original. Can't help but wonder though, would a fighter jet really fall out of the sky due to an EMP pulse? I mean they are basically like a diesel engine, no ignition system, once you get it started it fires by fuel being injected into super heated compressed air. I could be wrong but I think it would just keep flying. But we all know how accurate Hollywood is with the laws of physics.

Godzilla is usually a good guy in most of the movies.
Don't know if an EMP would kill a jet or not. Without power, would the fuel continue to flow?

If the fuel pump is mechanical like on my New Holland then it should work. If electrical, then yeah, there could be a problem. I really don't know if the wing flaps and other controls are controlled electrically or mechanically. Don't really work on a lot of jet fighters. In the original 54 Godzilla he was the bad guy. Stomped the shit outta Tokyo. In the later movies he became one of the "good Guys" fighting other monsters who wanted to stomp the shit out of Tokyo. "It's MY city, go get your own!" Maybe the military should of borrowed one o' dem big ass robots from "Pacific Rim" and punched the shit outta them critters.

Saw Guardians, and loved it. Nicely paced, good story and characters, and lots of action.
Wish I could say the same for Expendables 3. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Just kinda good. The story I think was what killed it for me. It was too by-the-numbers. No surprises, or twists to it. Once things get going, you know exactly how they are going to play out. Sure, lots of things got blown up. But not in any kind of new or creative way. And there was some good one-liners, but not enough to really lighten the mood, or carry any of the story.

Kinda my feeling about Expendables also. Plus, way too many characters to sort out. Loved the girl, she was badass, but who were the other new young guys? Never heard of any of em.
Saw Sin City yesterday. That was pretty good, but about the same as the first one a couple of years ago.
Looking forward to the November Man, The Equalizer, and a Walk thru the tombstones, or something like that with Liam Neeson.

November Man looks good, but not good enough to go to the movies for it. Not sure if I want to spend the cash to see Maze Runner either, or if I will wait for it to come on cable.
The upcoming animated movie (Big Hero 6) looks like it might be good. But, again, I will probably wait for it to come to cable.

Saw the new Mad Max movie today. Some of the most INSANE car stunts I have ever seen in a movie. This had to be all done with CGI. Either that, or they killed about two hundred actors and stunt people filming this thing. I think Mel Gibson was a better Max then this new guy, but the movie didn't lack for action.

Well. It seems I am going to be spending a lot of time at the theater the next few months.
Just saw Logan (great movie) Next week is Kong Skull Island. Which looks to be amazing. Can't wait to see Kong kick ass. At the end of the month is Ghost in the Shell. They took one of my favorite animes, made it live action, with Scarlett Johansson as the lead (in a skin-tight bodysuit no less). I'm all in for that!
Next month is Fate of the Furious. I was gonna pass on this latest installment, but the wife wants to see it, so I'll go along too.
May is packed too. Guardians 2 Alien: Covenant I'll probably skip the new Pirates movie though. I'll catch it on cable.

Pretty much looking forward to the same ones: Logan, Kong, Guardians, etc. Not sure about Aliens. I think they've done that to death. Same ole same ole. Get an RPG and kill the sumbitch already. You've made the same damn movie a zillion times already. Same with the "new" Fast and Furious, what is it now, episode 900? Bunch of cars breaking every law of physics in the known universe. I would of thought with the death of Paul Walker that franchise was over with. Guess not. They'll drag that on till Vin Diesel is too old to work the gear shift anymore. What's kinda sad is with the exception of the blown Dodge Charger I don't recognize one damn car in the movies. All just "jelly beans" with four tires, like all the new cars on the road. Take the badging off and they all look alike.

Yeah. Like I said. The only reason I am going to see it is because the wife wants to. Not a lot of movies we actually agree on, so I'll go.
