Saw Expendables 2 today.IT ROCKS! Some great one liners, and the music selections to go along with the carnage are insane. Someone had a lot of fun making this movie.
If ya like action shoot-em-up movies this is a must see.

This one has been on my radar since it was first announced. Unfortunatley, I couldn't see it this past weekend. (due to D-Day, and Brit going back to college) So I hope to see it this coming Saturday.

Saw it today. Loved it.
In some ways it's even better than the first one. Not nearly as much gratuitous blood and violence, but a little more plot.
Saw a trailer for another movie coming up that I think I want ot check out. The Man with the Iron Fists.

Might go check out the new Resident Evil movie next weekend.
Hank, not sure if you have seen any of the promos for the Man With the Iron Fists, but that looks like it could be a real fun ride.

I have not heard a thing about this Iron Fists movie, but the title sounds interesting, I'll have to keep an eye open for it. Trevor, you have any idea what became of the new G.I. Joe movie? I thought it was suppose to open around August or September, but I'm not seeing any ads for it on the TV. And a couple of weeks ago the Plain Dealer in the Friday Showtime section ran a listing of all the new movies coming out from that time thru December and it was not listed in there. . It's like it just vanished. Since you go to more places on line than I do, I'm thinkin' maybe you heard something? HANK.

Yeah, I remember hearing about it getting pushed back until next year. I think because they want to make it 3D, but I can't remember for sure. I do remember reading something about it, shortly after I saw the trailer for it when I saw Avengers.
Iron Fists looks to be an amped up karate movie. Along the lines of what they used to pump out back in the 70s. Except this appears to have a big budget, and made in the states, so no bad dubbing job. I know it has Lucy Liu, and Quentin Tarantino is somehow invovled.

Trevor...Good luck with "The Man with the Iron Fists." Really good movie, saw it yesterday. But the odd thing is that it is only playing at three theaters in the Cleveland area. So you may have to go to Erie or someplace to catch it. I know not what you have in the way of theaters in Conneaut, or Ashtabula. Not sure why such a limited coverage. HANK.

I know. The only theater left in Ashtabula county is the one at the mall. And they don't have it. Hoping that maybe they will get it this weekend.
I want to see it, but not bad enough to travel far for it. Especially since I am pretty tired from the 11 hour shifts.

Saw the HOBBIT the other day. Good movie, but extremely long. They could of left out a couple of scenes that really did nothing to advance the story. But the scenery was really great. I gotta wonder though, aren't dwarfs suppose to be short? These guys looked to be about 5' 9", 5' 10" in height. I guess they couldn't find enough midget actors for the parts.

The reason the dwarves looked normal size, is that most of the movie things were centered around them. If you remember, Gandalf seemed like a giant in Bilbo's house. Having to crouch to keep from hitting his head on the ceiling. While Biblo and the dwarves fit in there perfectly.
I thought the movie flew by pretty good for being just short of 3 hours. The only part that seemed to drag for me, was in the goblin caves. The part with Gollum was great, but the fight scene between the dwarves and the goblins just seemed to go on and on and on. I was fearing something as slow paced as Fellowship of the Ring. Which while a good interpretation of the book, was kind of slow and plodding the first half.
I really enjoyed the added scenes that were canon. (stuff Tokin wrote but weren't in the actual book) The stuff that Jackson made up himself wasn't bad. It did add to the length, but it also kind of helped move the story along, and gave some motivation for some of the actions and characters.

Don't know if you saw the same trailers I did, but there are a few movies on my radar that I want to see.
Warm Bodies - kind of a romantic zombie movie. First I heard of it was the trailer before the Hobbit, but I am pretty sure I will be in the theater in February to see it.
Oblivion - Tom Cruise post apocalyptic flick. Been hearing buzz and watching promo vids for a few weeks before this. Looks pretty good, and interesting. But doubt I will spend the money to see it in the theaters, but I will watch for it to turn up on the premium cable chanels.
Pacific Rim - Giant robots vs giant monsters Been stoked about this one for almost 2 months now. Seeing the trailer on the big screen just reenforced how much I want to see this movie. Going to be a long wait for it to come out in July.

Saw previews for Pacific Rim. Looks like a must see to me. The other two I know nothing about, but they sound good. Speaking of Tom Cruise, I plan to catch his latest, Jack Reacher next week. Don't know if you've seen previews for a movie called Hansel & Gretal but it looked pretty good. Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yeah, the Goblin cave scene was a bit long, and most of the fights sucked, just a blur of bodies. And the scene with the two pile of rocks fighting could uv been left out as far as I'm concerned. It added nothing but time to the movie.
