I was afraid at least one of you would "go there"! That's why I said," behave". Not that it's a bad thing to have, well, "fun" thoughts (Yes, I'm trying to keep it as clean as possible for the yung 'uns!). Trevor, I'm often glad that I don't have a screen on my forehead that shows what's goin' on in my mind!! I'd be in a lot more trouble than I usually am!! I was just worried you were laughin' at the "we're not old" part! LOL

I'll never laugh about age. You're only as old as you think you are. Hence the reason I usually act (and think) like a teenager

My dear Mickey...If you do not remember double features at an indoor theater then you are most definitely NOT OLD! I on the other hand remember them all too well. Back when you use to have the "neighborhood movie house" they would show TWO movies, a cartoon or two, on Sat &Sun. they would show a serial episode ( do I need to explain what that is, or does anyone else remember them?) and some news reels! About the 1960's when you started to get these 98 screen multiplex theaters is when things changed to showing only ONE movie, some previews of coming attractions, no cartoons, no serials. Girlfriend, I'm so danged old I remember when the price of admission for all that was 25 cents. YES! YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY!! One quarter. I remember my folks would give me 50 cents, and that got me into the show and got me a box of popcorn and a soda. As for being OLD, I relish it. When I look back on all the crazy, stupid crap I did I should have never lasted this long. HANK

Returned home a short while ago from seeing Underworld 2. If you are a fan of that genre you will like the movie. Lots of action, special effects, blood, gore, all that good stuff! If you did not see part one you might be a little confused about the "why" of some of it. For us horror, fantasy, sci-fi fans. X-men 3 is coming out the latter part of May. HANK.

Trevor, I think your right about "being as old as you think you are". Then again, I never think about it, so . . . . Literally, when people ask my age, I don't know right off hand because I don't ever think about it. I don't get why it's such a big deal to so many people. I mean, once we're legal, or at least say, over 21, who the heck cares!!
Hank, thanks for the laughs!! I was laughing when I read your post and then had to read it to "Ye who loves sword school". I do know what you're talking about regarding serials. I think (at least from what I was told) they used to show ones like "Flash Gordon", etc. I used to watch them, but on t.v. My friends and I thought they were a "blast".
My mom used to tell us about going to see multiple movies, newsreels, cartoons, etc. at the theatre. I believe she said it was only a dime!!! She said she'd forget herself and stay all day watching stuff! Her mom would have to come looking for her.
Thanks for the info on that Underworld movie also. The young 'un was just talking about that movie. I was afraid it didn't sound like something he should see! Now I know.

Yeah Mickey... The serials were usually some action/adventure type thing: Flash Gorden, Buck Rogers, Roy Rogers, Superman, Batman, That sorta thing. Each chapter would end with our "Hero" in some dire peril (hanging off a cliff by his fingernails: about to be blown to smithereens, ect, ect.) so you would go back to the theater next week to see how it turned out.For those of you too young to know what I'm talking about, a lot of them are out on VHS or DVD so check your library or video store. Pick up a couple and give them a look see. They weren't Academy Award winners, but they were a lot of fun to watch! HANK.

Hey, don't forget Zorro! I don't remember serials myself, but my dad does and he told me about that one.

Wyldfire, don't do that! ;D I'm sure you probably already are, but be thankful you're going to school! I'm working on it myself and would gladly be doing that right now!! With all of the technology we have now, you'll get to see your movies, I'm sure.
I know it's not the same as going to the theatre, but still. . .

WYLDFIRE. You're going to college to learn how to kick yourself in the head?? What a strange course that is. Ya know, you could just come to Sword School, we could teach you to do that!! But, joking aside, what school are you going to (CSU, Lakeland??) and what ARE you taking up? HANK.

Has anyone seen Walk the Line? That's about the only current release I'ld consider paying to see in the theaters. I've seen the music video of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon performing the Cash classic "Jackson" and it sounded phenomenal. While Joaquin is no Johnny Cash-he does an impressive portrayal. I was rather impressed that both he and Reese Witherspoon perform all the Johnny and June Carter songs in the film.

No haven't seen it but would like to. Trying to get Sir John into a theater is making a turkey fly from a helicopter. I would love to get the sound track having grown up on Johnny Cash in my childhood from my father. It's been many years but I remember listening to his 8tracks.
