To me Pawn stars and all the rest the the "clones" (Hard Core Pawn, H.C. Pawn Detroit, Cajun Pawn, etc) are phony as Hell. Most folks in real life are pawning their TV or toaster for a few bucks.
These shows have people walking in with the real "Excalibur" signed by King Arther himself, or a crown worn by the pope himself, or something equally off the wall. Who owns that kinda shit? And they go..."Well, it's kinda old and rusty, tell ya what, I'll give ya a hundred bucks for it."
Who the hell is that stupid? You could put it on E-bay and sell it for 100 times more.
I saw on one episode of Hard Core Pawn a guy walked in and tried to pawn a horse. Who the Hell is gonna accept that? Go sell it to some farmer
Those shows are at the top of my DO NOT WATCH list, along with the Voice, American Idol, dancing with the Stars, etc. Complete waste of an hour.

I only watch the original. Pawn Stars. And like I said, it makes good background noise. Mainly though, I prefer the home improvement shows for Especially Renovation Realities. That is where they put a camera on some average couple trying to do a renovation that they have no business doing. You know, like some young couple that thinks they are going to be able to tear out their kitchen and get it all redone in a long weekend. It's hilarious watching them almost kill themselves. Or get into a huge fight (usually because the guy won't listen to whatever crazy idea his wife/ girlfriend has). Or watching them scrambe trying to get the cabinets in place before the countertop guy gets there. Because they scheduled the appointment with an unrealistic timetable, and now they are going to have to pay extra for him to come back again when they actually do have the cabinets in place.

I hope they bring back Mike Holmes show. It's not been on for awhile now and I thought that was interesting. Most of the others are as you described, two idiots with no ability who don't know a hammer from a cut off saw trying to remodel their kitchen/bathroom/whatever, and spend more time arguing then putting forth any useful "how to it" information.
If you like "improvement" type shows ya might want to check out "Power Block" on Spike, Saturday morning from 9:00AM to 11:00 Am.
It is four 30 minute car repair shows. You have Extreme 4X4, which is geared to off road type stuff. Horsepower. which covers engine building, how to get more horsepower, fuel economy from your car. and Trucks, and Muscle Car cover all sorts of useful information on doing anything and everything with your vehicle. I won't miss em. Probably my favorite shows for all the useful information I get off of them for repair tips, new parts etc. Check em out this Saturday.

Sounds too advanced for me/ Not into the tweaks and stuff. The only 'auto' show I ever liked was Shade Tree Mechanic. And that was years ago.
As for Mike Holmes, he's on every day. On the DIY network. Which is hte one I like. The wife likes HGTV. Which used to show Mike Holmes. but now is mainly stuff like Love It or List It, or Property Virgins, or House Hunters. Kind of interesting in small doses, but not really my kind of stuff.

Bummer, I don't get the DIY network. Bunnie watches a lot of those Love it or list it, House Hunter shows, I think they're useless. One of em the other day the guy wanted a house with a garage, so what was the first house the sales person showed him...NO GARAGE! Are you a frackin idiot, why are you wasting my time showing me this piece of crap? Actually, while power Block does some "advanced" stuff way beyond your capabilities, like building a tube chassis off road rock crawler, they do have a lot of information you can apply in your driveway. Shadetree Mechanic is on the Speed Channel, but God only knows when, when they're not showing some 3 year old race from East Bumfucastan and decide to run an episode. Great show, along with TruckU and gearz. But they don't seem to have any set time or date for new episodes. OH, they're on Saturday, but they just keep showin the same episode you've already seen 5 times. I don't mind repeats, but the same one 5 weeks in a row....come on. TV as a whole is really gone to Hell in my opinion. Nothing but really stupid crap. Like Honey BooBoo. Never watched it, but have seen commercials. How damn stupid can you get. HANK.

Saw previews for the latest DUMB ASS TV show. It's called Splash, and the premise seems to be that they have a bunch of has been celebrities going off a 20 or 30 foot high diving board into a swimming pool Why? to see who can make the biggest belly flop? What what I saw on the preview for the show none of them are any damn good. They're lucky they didn't kill themselves. Programming is getting more stupid by the day HANK.

Hey, all you medieval fans out there, there is a new TV show ya might find of interest, it's called the QUEST. It's on ABC on Thursday night at 8:00PM. Check it out. It's like a Lord of the Rings reality show. I liked it.
