SO! Do any of the "new" shows look interesting to anyone? Saw a listing of the new fall schedule in the TV Guide and frankly nothing really jumps out at me.
There are a lot of commercials for "The Event," but I doubt I will bother with it. It seems to me to be another of those convoluted stories like Flash Forward where they keep you in the dark as to what is really going on, then get canceled before they come up with an explanation. SO, screw em!
Combined with the fact that most of the networks don't seem to have solved their problems with the new (what is it now, a year old) digital format as the picture and sound still go squirrelly more often than not, which makes 3,5, and 8 almost unwatchable. So I doubt I will bother with any of the so called "new" shows.

The only thing new that caught my attention was on one of the cable channels. Can't remember which one, or the name of the show. But it was about some guy raising a baby. Seemed so stupid that it might actually be funny.

For those who didn't realize, the fall TV schedule started this week for most of the network shows.
I'm pretty much trying to stick with just what I watched last year, and not add more to the schedule. But thanks to some re-arranging, I did see some of the new stuff last night. The new comedy that replace Big Bang Theory on Mondays (it moved to Thursday night). Mike and Maggie. I liked the first ep. Really funny. And some interesting characters. Also saw the begining of the re-imagined Hawai-5-0. I liked what I saw, but I can't stay up late enough to watch it (getting up at 4:15 AM). And my VCR schedule is already pretty full. If it ends up going a full season, and renewed for next season, I may watch it over the summer.

So anyone else want to talk TV?
I need to catch Outrageous Pumpkins 2 on the Food Network. It's a pumpkin carving competition. One of the reasons I need to catch it though, is that I know a couple of the competitors. They are friends from my model kit hobby. Some of the sculptors who actually sculpt the kits. (if you read this Brit, Pinkerton is one of them)

Hey Trevor. help me out here. Do you remember a show from a couple years ago, 08, or maybe 09, I think it was a Summer replacement on some cable channel.
I remember it had some goofy name like "Grog the Barbarian" or something like that. The hero was some muscular by dumb guy. He had a couple of sidekicks, one was a black guy I think, and the other was this chick he had the hots for but she would sleep with anyone else but him. Any of this ringing any bells? I thought the show was pretty funny, and was wondering if it ever made it back for a second season. If it did I must have missed it, but not remembering exactly what the show was called might make it sort of hard to find.

The name of the show was Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire www.imdb.com/title/tt1299897/Only one short season so far. Though the DVD set just came out this year. I think if there is enough sales of that, they may revisit the idea.

YEP, that was it. Thanks Trev. I'll have to keep an eye open for the DVD as I thought the show was pretty funny, especially the villian. That is what is pissing me off about programing these days, anything good (meaning I like it) lasts about 6 episodes, but shit like dancing with the stars is on for 20 episode a WEEK! And who the hell are half of those so called stars? I never heard of most of em. HANK.

Has anyone caught "The Walking Dead" on AMC, Sunday night at 10:00PM? It is a zombie theme show, but it is pretty good. Worth a look see if you have not already been watching. I have a question. Can Zombies starve to death? We all know from various movies that shooting them in the head will "kill" them, though they are already dead. But what would happen if the zombies ate every living thing that WAS NOT a zombie, would they eventually starve to death? I mean, they DON'T seem to eat each other, they just wander around looking for a nice tasty human to munch on. HANK.

Good question. Since they are already dead, I don't think they can actually starve to death.
As for the show, I haven't seen it yet. I want to, but it is on too late for me right now. 4:30 comes awefully early, so staying up until 11 to watch a show is not really in my plans until the OT comes to an end.

Don't you have a VCR you can set and just watch it later? And while we're on the subject, what about vampires. A vampire bites you and you either die or get turned into a vampire. Not sure how that works, amount of blood they suck out I guess, I don't know. So what happens if say they eventually kill everyone, or turn them into vampires, what do you do for a blood supply then? and if for example there are no more humans and a vampire sucks the blood of a cow; do you now have a cowpire? Not to be confused with a cow pie, which is a whole different thing, and we know those things exist! ;D So many unanswered questions. HANK.

As to the VCR question, I already have it fully programmed. All 8 programing slots are taken recording all the other shows that come on at 10 during the week, as well as other shows that are on at the same time as something else that I watch.
I will eventually get around to downloading the show, or watching it on the AMC website. The OT will probably be coming to an end soon. Thanksgiving is usually about the time we slow down at work. Which is also about the time that most networks start showing reruns or holiday programing.

I miss all the old shows that were on 10 years & earlier...so I watch DVD's much more often than tv. You name it from Bauty & the Beast to Happy Days to One Day at a Time...Alice...stuff that was good. Todays tv stinks, no offense!
