Ditto to what you listed Trevor. Except for PSI Factor which I never heard of. What the Hell channel was that on? And Highlander, which I thought was a decent enough movie, but a really stupid TV show. How the Hell did these people survive as a race if all they do is run around trying to lob off each others heads? Get a hobby for Christ sakes!
The problem with TV today is that NONE of the channels have anything to do with what they are named after. Well ALMOST none, the Speed Channel does have a lot to do with car races and such. but look at some of the others.
MTV. When was the last time you saw anything there having to do with music?
SciFi. We now have Professional Wrestling, and more shows having to do with finding ghosts (have yet to ever see one) than we do with anything I would consider Science Fiction.
History. Damn little to do with actual history. We now have shows about a bunch of dumb asses driving 90,000 lbs trucks over ice. Are you frakin nuts? I don't care if you're paying me a thousand dollars a mile, no way in Hell am I doing that. And we also have shows about finding aliens, and people pawning shit. What does any of that have to do with History?
TLC (the Learning Channel) Shows about grumpy ass chefs making cakes, and dumb ass brides trying to pick out a wedding dress. Whats up wit dat?
What they need is a channel called "Dumb ass shit not worth watching" and put all that crap on it and let the rest of em go back to what they are suppose to be.

Hank, Psi Factor was a Canadian produced TV series. I used to watch it late on Saturday nghts, right after SG1 (which was still a Showtime program at that time) Can't remember what station I used to watch it on. It was either 43 from Cleveland, or 24 from Erie, I think.
And I hear you about some of these chanels now. Most of them seem to get one series and just run it endlessly anymore. TNT is the Law and Order network (though there are a few others that also seem to run it a lot) USA is the NCIS network Spike is the CSI network Then there is another that runs CSI Miami all the time. ABC Family seems to run the Harry Potter movies all weekend at least once a month. And another one seems to do that with Lord of the Rings. While yet another seems to do Star Wars at least every couple months.

For any fans of Larry the Cable Guy, he has a new show on the History Channel at 9:00PM Tuesday night called Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy. It's pretty informative and entertaining, and with Larry as the host pretty damn funny as well.
Caught it last night, and it will be on my "must watch" list

Is it just me, or are there just too damn many shows on TV having to do with singing and dancing? I recently saw a commercial for two new ones I make it a point to NEVER watch any of them, but God, they are becoming ubiquitous. It seems like every other show on TV has something to do with one of these two subjects.

Found a reality show that you might like Hank. Called All American Handyman. It on HGTV
10 contestants have to complete different building challenges every week. One of the judges is Mike Holmes.

I caught the show last season, and enjoyed it. Have not caught this season as Sunday nigh is kinda jammed up with some other shows I'm watching, Leverage, and The Great Escape on TNT. And a couple of other shows I'm taping on another channel. But some, like Falling Skies, and the Great Escape have had their season final so I might be able to catch it this Sunday.
It's a good show, but even experienced contractors are not skilled in all the areas that these "Home Handymen" are expected to compete in. Mike is damn good, but even he calls in experts in various fields of repair on his Holmes Inspection show. A lot of that stuff you and I could do, just not in the time limit they are allotted

Yeah. Last night's was a bit extreme. They each had 4 small "handy man" jobs to do. And they had an hour to do them. The catch was, there was a microphone pointing at them, and if they made too much noise it would set off an alarm. This was supposedly to simulate trying to work while a baby was sleeping.
Only 3 managed to finish without 'waking the baby' And not one of them got all 4 jobs completely done.
Just a big, over the top.

There is a crazy new show on Sunday night at 9:00PM on Discovery called "One Car Too Far" being the gear head that I am I figured I would check it out.
You have these two guys, Bill and Gary who are attempting to drive a Jeep 2500 feet down a volcano in the Andes mountains in Chile. The show is sponsored by Jeep, I wonder if there is a tie-in? HMMM. Now they have 3 days to accomplish this, which sounds easy enough since 2500 feet is just a bit short of a half mile. But, it is all steep down hills on ice, with deep crevices, loose volcanic rock, and really, really rough terrain. They broke an axle, and the drivers rear wheel kept coming out of the housing. They would drive 10 or 20 feet, then they had to stop, jack up the Jeep, shove the axle and wheel back into place in order to drive another 10 or 20 feet. They did finish the task in the allotted time. Not sure what kinda prize they won. I guess next week they will have another stupid task to do with the vehicle. It's interesting, but stupid. It's like, what kinda dumb ass situation can me and my car get into and drive out of?
TV shows have really gone to Hell in a hand basket as of late.

The Plain Dealer had an article on the new TV shows coming this Fall in today's paper. Only three of them look promising enough to even bother to check out to see if they will be worth watching long term. Most of 'em are just more of the same stupid crap we have more than enough of on TV already. Oh well, whatta ya gonna do?

I don't really pay much attention to upcoming new shows. I have enough existing shows that I watch already. Like 11 hours of network programing + all the cable series like Haven, Warehouse 13, Leverage, Burn Notice, etc that I watch. So, it would have to be something special to get my attention. What usually happens, is I stumble across something, or I see comercials that catch my eye. That is how I got started on Sullivan & Son. Which is hilarious.

11 hours on network!? WOW! I find almost NOTHING on the networks worth watching. Most of their shows are about people dancing with has been stars, or people trying to prove they can sing. Or if the network does have a show I like and watch, it gets cancelled half way thru the season. And as for shows like Leverage, and Haven, while I watch and enjoy them, there "season" is only about 6 or 8 episodes long then they go off the air for 6 months. What channel is this Sullivan and son thing on? I never even heard of them.

That is on TBS, which I watch a lot, as they have Big Bang Theory reruns on all the time. Plus, during the day, my wife watched Friends on it.
Yeah, it sounds like a lot of network time. But 3 hours of that is comedy. 2 hours on Monday with How I Met Your Mother and such. Then Thrusday with Big Bang and Rules of Engagement. 2 hours of CSI (original and NY) 2 hours of NCIS Bones, Castle, Fringe, and Supernatural.
IT adds up.

Of all those shows you mentioned the only one I watch is Fringe. By the way I thought you were watching Supernatural on your computer as you did not get that channel?
A couple of years ago I watched a season of CSI. ( Vegas, NY, and Miami) but they were all the same story, just in a different location. Find murder victim, find murder weapon a block away in trash can. Lets see, you have an entire ocean, a million sq. miles of desert, and the East, and Hudson river to dispose of a murder weapon and all you can do is dump it in a trashcan a block away?
NCIS. Watched a season of the original cuz Bunnie likes it. Only one with any sense is Ziva. How the rest of those nut cases got hired in the first place is beyond me. Never bothered with the West coast version. Probably just like CSI. same story, different location.
More commentary later, have to get the kids to work and go to the Y.

Well, I'm back.So more commentary on current TV shows. Rules of Engagement: never saw it, so no comment. Met your Mother: saw a few episodes, moderately funny, never have figured out who's mother they are talking about anyway.. Big Bang: That bunch is so stupid the make the folks on Worlds Dumbest look like candidates for MENSA. If I had friends that annoying I would strangle them. Bones: I just don't get it. Every time they find a body they strip it down to a skeleton. Seems to me they are destroying a lot of evidence. From all the CSI shows I watched they seem to learn a lot from soft tissue injuries, which Bones completely neglects. The dynamics between Bones and Angle and the rest of the characters is totally dysfunctional. As for the four networks; ABC,CBS, NBC, and FOX. I watch damn little. Especially now when all you have on is the Democratic convention, football, baseball, and all the damn singing and dancing shows. SO, network wise, I watch GRIMM on Monday.Nothing on Tuesday, or Wednesday. Person of Interest on Thursday. Nothing on Friday or Saturday, and Once upon a Time on Sunday. Most everything else is on the Cable channels. I guess our TV viewing interests are quite a bit different. HANK.
