I know what you are thinking. Don't we already have a thread for what you are watching? Well, yes, but this one is different. This is to talk about anything TV related. New shows coming up. Favorite series that are canceled. Anything you think someone might be interested to know.
Anything.

I'll kick it off.
Looking forward to Rescue Me coming back in about 10 days now.
So glad that Supernatural got picked up for a second season.
And what is up with Gibbs on NCIS? Is he really gone?

Something you might find of interest Trev. On June 28th (I believe) Spike TV is starting a new series; BLADE. Looks like the movies of the same name starring Wesley Snipes. Lots of sword fighting and stuff from what I saw of the previews. Will have to check it out. HANK.

Thanks for reminding me. I remember hearing about that, but don't think I ever actually knew when it would start.

Trevor, you said "Supernatural" was picked up for a second season, does that mean it will be making the transition to the new network? (WB + UPN = CW ?)

Jasmine...I believe that is the case from what I saw in the newspaper a while back when they talked about the networks and previewed the new fall shows. Even though WB and UPN are mergeing they are bringing along some of the present shows.
Seems like we've lost "Invasion, and "Surface" which kinda sucks! Just when they were getting to the point where you might find out what the Hell is going on they cancel them. That is why I watch so little network TV anymore. They air a new show that really looks good and it gets cancelled 3 weeks later. HANK.

Jasmine. Yes, it will be on the new CW network. Along with Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven (yes I know, it's supposed to be over, but somehow the network managed to talk everyone into 1 more season I guess).

Thanks, Trevor & Hank, for the confirmation on "Supernatural". I am very happy to hear that, especially since it wasn't doing so well in the ratings.
Hank, I understand what you're talking about. This season I really got into "Killer Instinct", but it's unlikely it'll be renewed. And another favorite, "In Justice", may or may not be renewed. Would really like to see more of both.
Sounds like what they did with "Charmed" last year. They weren't sure if the show would be renewed or not. The season finale was opened ended so it could have gone either way. Finally ended this year.

Well, actually. 7th Heaven was supposed to end. The actors, creators, and the network have been saying all season long that it would be the final season. Then suddenly at the end of the season the CW talks everyone into one more year.

LOST...After watching this show for two seasons I have to say I'm getting a little fed up with it and I'm not sure I will bother with season 3. I am sick of the fact they heap mystery upon mystery and never resolve anything. And! Very few of the people ever seem to question anything that goes on. Come on! Locke and Echo get blown up or something in the hatch and Charlie is talking to Clair casually like nothing ever happened. Everyone hears this ungodly noise and the sky goes goofy and no one even says WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? Like this is an everyday thing.
What ever became of the "Monster" from the first season? Remember him? he ate the pilot of the plane, made load roaring noises, and bent trees over. He just seems to have vanished with no explanation.
I hope Michael and Walt sail off into the sunset never to be seen again. What a couple of whiney losers! I was hoping that when Hurley found out he killed Libby he would jump on him and squash him like a bug.
Ya gotta wonder how poor old Desmond got any sleep. He was in the hatch by himself for 3 years (right?) and every hour and 48 minutes he had to get up and enter the code. Thats gotta be worse then have a baby and getting up all night to feed it or burp it or whatever.
Now, on top of all the other weird things going on, we have a giant eltromagnet to contend with. Whats up with that? And where are all the people the "others" kidnapped from the Tailenders? I thought they said they had 26 people when they crashed. But when they got to Jacks side of the island they were down to 4, I think.
Finish a story line once in awhile for God sakes.

Well, they did resolve a few things. The code did actually do something. We know how Desmond got in the hatch (BTW, he was their for 3 years, but the other guy was there with him for at least 2 of those years) The monster was seen this season, remember Ekko faced it.
I liked this season a lot more than last season. After the last half of last season, and the begining of this season, I almost dropped the show. But this season has seen a lot more intrigue and some actual answers to a few things. Instead of just piling questions on top of more questions, they have answered a bunch of stuff as well. Sure, they bring up new questions, but that is the nature of the show.

OK. So Carl (I think that was his name) was with Desmond for 2 years before he hit his head on the rock and croaked, but that still left Desmond pushing the button on his own for a year. You think you don't get any sleep now, try waking up every hour and 48 minutes for a year. I'd be so grumpy from sleep deprivation in a week I wouldn't give a damn if the place blew up.
As for Ekho facing the "Monster" I don't think so. He faced a cloud of black smoke. What the hell was that, some left over creature from "Star Trek?" While the black smoke is yet another mystery, I don't believe it can roar and knock over trees. Could be wrong about that. I mean we did not see much of it, it just floated around Ekho and then off it went without making a sound or knocking over one tree. And there ya are once again, He just takes it in stride, like it's an everyday occurance. Now come on, if a cloud of smoke floats up to you and looks you square in the eye then vanishes don't you think you're gonna tell some one "You ain't gonna believe what the hell just happened to me!" What are they gonna find next Amelia Airheart?
Another thing. How did the plane full of cocain that Ekho's brother was flying get all the way there from the West coast of Africa? To me it didn't look like it had mid air refueling capabilities and that had to be a long flight across the Indian Ocean, past Australia to crash on some island in the Pacific.
And. A few days, or weeks ago (island time) when Jack wouldn't let Locke punch in the numbers because he had him opening the door to Henry's cell, they went to zero, turned red, and just flipped back to 108 again without the magnet going crazy.
So as far as I'm concerned, there are still more questions then answers. HANK.

Thought it was time to drag this out of mothballs and post a few random thoughts about what's on TV. And what's about to be on TV.
First off, let me start with Lost, since that is where we left off in this thread a year ago. In my opinion the show is fast replacing Battlestar Galactica as the most inane piece of drivel on TV. Let me cite an example. A few episodes back one of the others, I forget who, the guy with the eye patch that John and Sayid captured walks into the "force field" fence and zaps himself, but Sayid I think it was, pole vaults, or climbs over the tower and get on the other side. So, we know the field is finite and does not extend upward to outer space.
Now then! last night Kate and Julia put the "force field" between themselves and the smoke monster, he hits the fence, can't get thru so he turns around and dissipates. Why didn't he/she/it, what ever the hell this thing is, Julia didn't even know, just go over the top like Sayid did?
Dresden Files. I like it. pretty good show. But how long can Murphy stay as stupid as she is? I mean, come on, she has witnessed some pretty incredible, weird things hangin' around with Harry. Yet she seems to not believe any of it. Come on people, if you're standing on the street and a pig flys past your face you pretty much have to come to the conclusion that "pigs can fly" or else you think you are hallucinating. I mean Harry claims to be a wizard, he has business cards to that effect, what the hell does that women think that he does for a living, take a pee? (I'm a magician, I'm here to magis for you. Aren't you glad I'm not a wizard?)
Pain Killer Jane.. Previews sound interesting. Sounds a little like Claire, the cheerleader from Hero's all grown up. She's a cop and nothing can kill her, she just heals like Claire does. I just hope they don't go stupid with it whereby no one else knows she has this ability, she just gets shot 500 times by the bad guys but explains it away as it was "just a scratch" Have to wait and see I guess.
One of MY favorite shows at the moment is "Bull run" Tuesdays on Spike. If you've not seen it, think "Amazing Race" only the teams are driving cars. Now then, being the gear head that I am you can see why I like this show. In fact, Pirate Dave and I have talked about entering it if they do another season, cuz from what I've seen so far we can kick ass. Half the teams on the show can't follow simple directions to get from point A to point B. They pull off the road to get gas and then get back on the highway going in the opposite direction. I don't know, maybe from having driven a truck for 25 years, but North, South, East, and West just ain't that hard for me to comprehend. Not to mention most of the cars are set up wrong for the type of event they are in. You don't take an Indy race car and try to run Baja with it. You have to build for a specific purpose. And most of them haven't. (you supply your own car for this race)
And now for my biggest pet peeve. What is with these goofy schedules anymore? Use to be a show started in Sept. and except for a break around the holidays it ran till about late April or early May. Now, we seem to have a season final every 6 or 8 weeks and then the show goes off the air for 9 or 10 months! makes trying to follow the story line damn near impossible.
Well, that's my two cents worth. lets hear yours. HANK.

Glad you bought this back up. Lost - gave up on that when it went on break earlier this year. Just got too annoying. I could care less about Kate or Jack, and that is who the story was revolving around. BSG - this season wasn't all that good, but I will still give it a chance when it returns in 2008 Dresden - I can kind of get what is going on with Murphy. She functions in a logical world. Magic is not logical. If she accepts that it is real then her reality basically comes crashing down around her. So she is in denial. It's not that she is oblivious, it's that she just doesn't want to see it. About the schedules. Part of that is because so many good shows are on cable networks. They don't have the budget to run a show a full 20+ eps like the big boys. So what you get is basically a half a season every year. I actually think it is a good thing. With the compressed schedul you get 10-13 eps that are packed with stuff. No filler eps, or boring story lines. 2 of my favorite series are on FX. The Shield (which just started again) and Rescue Me. I like it. I get some great TV viewing without having the huge investment of watching for 20+ weeks at a certain time. (cable also tends to reair eps a lot more than the big networks anymore as well) The exception to that is of course Sci-Fi. They have their own way of doing things. They split a season into 2 half seasons. You get 10-12 eps. A break for three or four months, then the next 10-12 eps. Usually during that time you get a half season of another show. I don't know why they do it like that, but that is the way they do it. What annoys me, is the way the actual networks are screwing with their schedules. Moving things, pushing things back just to not compete with other shows. Or what is really driving me crazy is this stupid Idol stuff on FOX. I have a couple shows I like on that network (House, Bones). But every time I turn around it's going to be 2 or 3 weeks until the next new ep because Idol has some special ep on.

I don't know if anyone is farmiliar with Eddie Izzard. He is a very funny and intelligent British comedian. He stars in and is the executive producer of the new show "The Riches", Monday 10p.m. on FX. It is about a family of modern day gypsies that take over the lives of a rich couple or "buffers" as they put it. Its quite entertaining. It is very much a comedy drama. I compare it to Scrubs, in that in the hour that it is on it manages to tackle very tough, hard, and deep issues and still be funny. (Scrubs in my opinion is the best sitcom on T.V. because of that very reason.)
Any how, its a good show! Check it out!!
