To Celticwench...I do seem to recall a show of a few years back about a cop who was also a vampire and worked the night shift (wonder why!) though I can't recall the name nor what channel it was on. I only saw a couple of episodes.
To Trevor....Caught Stargate Atlantis tonight, is the "new" doctor who took Beckett's place the girl who played the ships mechanic on Firefly? Kinda looked like her, but she really did not have enough screen time for me to be sure.
Got a question for any CSI fans...Don't those people ever sleep? They seem to work 24/7. I've caught some of the reruns on Spike now and then and supposedly they work the "night shift" but I see them out in the bright sun light and well as in the darkness. I thought someone named Ecklie was in charge of days, yet you never see him or any of his crew. It's no wonder those people are all so grouchy, they have NO life! they just solve crimes 24 hours a day. HANK.

CSI - originally they all worked the night shift. A couple seasons ago, Ecklie started running the whole department. He moved Kat, Nick, and Warrick to 2nd shift.
Yes that was the mechanic from Firefly you saw as the new doctor on Atlantis. I have been looking forward to her appearance. I knew she would be established this season, just not which ep.

So that was her, COOL! it seems like the Stargate shows pick up everyone from all the other "dead" scifi programs. Gen. Landry's daughter is from Andromeda. Vala and Mitchell from Farscape. The two ladies from Firefly.
I see where Col Carter is replaceing Dr. Weir on S.A. next season. My feelings, they should have kept Beckett and killed off Rodney. He is such a whiner, God, he is annoying! HANK.

I actually like Rodny ....... now. Used to hate him, but he has grown on me over the episodes.
And yes, that is one of the things I love about SG1/Atlantis. They keep bringing back cool actors from other series.

Just a reminder. Eureka starts it's second season tongiht.
And for those of you who haven't checked it out yet, you should give Burn Notice a look. Airs on USA Thursdays at 10. One of the stars is Bruce Campbell.

Caught Eureka last night, fun show! Caught Burn Notice Monday (must uv been a repeat) my opinion: YAWN. Bruce Cambell and the guy who is the star do okay, get rid of mom and the ex wife Fiona and the show would be a lot better. Doubt I will make any effort to catch it again.
Pirate Master is now on Tuesday at 10:00 PM. That is starting to get a bit boring too. You would think SOMEONE would cast a vote for a mutiny by now. Supposedly you need a unanimous vote of crew and officers to unseat the captain, which in my opinion is Bullshit! Why would the officers vote against their own interest? They are living high on the hog compared to the crew. I think a mutiny vote by the crew, even if the officers did not go along with it would still send a pretty clear message that we ain't happy with your dumb butt! What's the worse that can happen, the captain has to select who to set adrift? HANK.

Hank, I think Burn Notice will get better. They have only aired 2 episodes so far, and the second one was better than the first one. Mom was actually toned down in the second one compared to the first one.

She was really dumb to open her mouth and tell Azmyth that the crew was leaning towards mutiny. It would make it interesting. I bet the ghost team is really ticked at John for the key bit. It would have been cool if they won.

Ya confused me there with "Jasmine" Her name was Jupiter. Why you would name your kid after a planet beats the hell out of me, but what do I know! I was hoping the ghost team would win also, that would have been an interesting twist. They should keelhaul John! I think the show will take some interesting twists here soon. Why do I say that? Well because, the captain and officers DO NOT vote. The 3 black spot pirates DO NOT vote, so we are rapidly running out of voters! Next week we will have only two. So something has to change pretty soon. I think it is interesting that so far no one who has bought the royal pardon has needed it. While on the subject of TV. Let's talk about Traveler. I thought this was to be a summer fill in for "Lost." But according to the TV Guide last nights episode was the "season final" DAMN!! That was a short season! What was it on for? 6 or 7 episodes at best! It was getting good too, as least they were advancing the plot, unlike the old show the "Fugitive" where he spent every week looking for the one armed man whom you never saw while the FBI chased his butt all over the countryside. HANK.

Well, I am glad I don't watch that pirate show. I just read that CBS pulled it due to bad ratings. The only way to find out what happens is to watch it online. The last 5 eps will air on CBS.com only. Over the next 5 Tuesdays.

Hey. I dug back and found this thread, so we can move the discussion of TV shows from the snow thread to this one Hank. I agree with you about CSI Miami. I gave up on that show long ago. Unlike CSI and CSI NY, the Miami version lacks and true content. It is all style with little substance. Usually solved by Horatio standing in one of his patented poses. He then removes his sunglasses and give the perp a stern loock. Which cause the poor guy to break down and confess. You want a good show to check out. Try NCIS. A lot funnier and more down to earth. Me, lately I have been hooked on Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs. Though Dirty Jobs is getting a little less interesting. They had some good ones on while I was laid up with this jaw. But lately it seems they are running out of ideas of what to do with him.

Hank, I don't know about "Chuck" and "Journeyman," but "Reaper" will be back after the strike. My mom was talking with Ray Wise (Reaper) and he said that as far as he knew, his show was not shut down and they will be back. He said they were getting good reviews and starting to get a following. Hopefully it will be back. I enjoyed it. Never saw Chuck or Journeyman.
Is anyone going to watch the new Apprentice?

Got to agree with you guys on CSI Miami....I used to really enjoy it, but any more it IS all style and no substance, and the character of Horatio has become a charariciture of itself, all that posturing and 'meaningful' looks! Absurd. They pretty much lost me last season, after what I call the Orange Episode....For NO apparent reason - had nothing to do with the plot - they kept sticking in these random, frequently jarring things - shirts, pants, flowers, cars, a whole BUILDING, in neon orange! I THINK it was supposed to be 'arty', but all it was, was annoying and distracting. I haven't seen an episode yet this season, and don't plan to! CSI New York, on the other hand, is better than ever. Last night's gleefully tounge-in-cheek nods to both 'Peter Pan' and 'The Wizard of Oz' made for a really enjoyable show.
And geez, Hank, the point is to not take ANY of the stuff they do too seriously....otherwise you'll drive yourself nuts! It's pure entertainment, and facts and reality ain't got nuttin' to do wit it! Remind me to tell you about the hoof knife they used as the murder weapon on 'Bones' sometime! ;D
