I didn't mean they are boring as a whole, I meant that their show is the same every year. They never add to it. of course I could say that about other acts as well. I'm excited to hear that the Maidens IV will be back!

If the Tortugas were so damned "boring", why was there always a crowd at their stage during their shows? As for them not being a fixture, four years is a pretty good run for an entertainment act at this faire. They were certainly a fixture for me. Excuse me if I sound cranky, but I, and the rest of their fans in Ohio, will miss them. I am sorry for the fans that will miss them. Still doesn't change the fact that I was really tired of hearing them. The way they hawked their show, you had to put up with hearing the hawking if you were anywhere near that end of the shire. I checked them out the first 2 years they were at the faire. Their shows were entertaining for a bit, but for me, they did not hold up well to re-viewing. Most of the big acts have the same shows year after year. But some are much better at making each one seem new and fresh each time. The joust had big crowds too. I still thought the 2006 joust was pretty boring and pathetic It's all a matter of personal prefference. Who knows, depending on who they get to replace them, I may end up lamenting their leaving. (but I doubt it)

Good Riddance. I won't miss them at all. They were totally unprofessional of the fact that they couldn't do their raunchy shows to make up for their lack of talent and wit. With H&S back, at least we still have a quality swordshow that just proves you don't have to raunchy to be funny. Perhaps John can get To The Hilt back for a full run. Jen and Ryan are Hollywood talent.

Ever since one of the twins was rude to my 71 yr old mother 2 summers ago I haven't felt the need to watch their shows. I love To the Hilt, and would love to see them. I also miss The Tartan Terrors.

To the Hilt would be great. But them and H&S at the same faire would be a bit of overkill. As their acts are very similar

we had the tartan terrors and the rouges of scotland at the same time and no one complained Doesn't the faire often have more than one musician/musical act at a time, as well? ETA: Of course, the Terrors and Rogues are musical acts, but I also meant Owain Phyfe, Silent Lion, etc.

I too am glad that the Maidens IV will be back. I really enjoyed their shows.
I wonder if the Faire can afford to bring back the Sword School since they will not have Tortugas back.
The SS was charging MUCH less and the whole family could enjoy their ever changing shows each week!
Maybe some of the Sword Schools supporters could mention this possibility to the powers that be.........

Hep, did I say that? Must be the 'growing up process'? I have the CRS syndrome, and If I have to tell you what that is- well...forget about it

To the Hilt would be great. But them and H&S at the same faire would be a bit of overkill. As their acts are very similar The only similarity is swords...they are two totally different styles of show...so I think it would be a gutbuster to have them both.. Anywho...I contacted Jennifer and Ryan (of To The Hilt) and mentioned there was a stage available...wink...wink... It is all up to Larry unfortunately...

I have mixed feelings about this. I like the Tortugas, but at the same time there are things that they did that annoyed me. My biggest pet peeve is what Trevor brought up, the relentless product dumping. Many times I'd think to myself "Shut up and get on with the show already!" They weren't approachable either. Other than checking the sales at their booth, they pretty much disappeared after their shows.
I'm sad to see them go, but that's the nature of the faire business. Hopefully some quality acts can be brought in that will be a new staple in the shire.
I'm also glad that Maidens IV will be back, those girls are amazing!

I remembered several times saying hello in passing and not get a response in return.

Oh gods I have been away too long. So much information to absorb all at once.
I thought the Twins were funny, to an extent. But I have to agree with almost all of you. Waaaaaayyyy to much hawking all of their stuff. But I did find it funn how they picked on one guy in the audince the entire time. Made for some awkward and hilarious moments.
That being said however, I would have kicked them a long time ago just to have Hack and Slash back those few years. Mesa loved them to bits.
