You're quite welcome. Discovered it pretty much by accident myself, and promptly made it a permanant part of my cooking. Not only that......I'm discovering new uses for buttermilk every day, including using it in place of the regular milk AND butter in a mac and cheese. A LOT less fat, and thick and creamy as you could ever desire!

No, if I'm making a quick Kraft thing, I use buttermilk in place of the regular milk and butter called for. If I'm making homeade, I do the same, but use plenty of real cheddar. I haven't tried using the buttermilk when BAKING a mac-n-cheese, so I can't say as yet how that turns out.

Okay everyone. Here is the recipe for the Taco dish I brought to cleanup the 1 time. This is for you BB.
Pep time 30 min Servings 56
1(1 ounce)package seasoning mix(but since I added 3 # of groundmeat I used 3 packs of seasoning)
1(16 ounce) can refried beans
1 (8 ounce)package cream cheese softened
1 (16 ounce)container sour cream
1(16 ounce) jar of your choice salsa
1 tomatoe chopped
1 greenpeper chopped
6 green onions chopped ( more if you like)
half head of iceburg lettuce shredded -can use romain if you perfer. Use your own judement then.
1 (6 ounce)can sliced black olives drained
package of chedder cheese
Brown the groundmeat drain and add taco mix. Spread the refried beans in the 13 by 9 pan. Add meat. Mix the sour cream and cream cheese in bowl. Spread over the refried beans. Top the layers with salsa. Place a layer of tomatoe,green pepper,green onions and lettuce over the salsa and top with chedder cheese and black olives.
I used soft taco shells but you also can use chips depending how you want to serve this dish as a meal or just a side dish.

Hey Hep, did U know that lettuce ,prepackaged, is already shredded?
Your salad sounds fabulous,except I would have to alter it..no tomatoes, no salsa. and NO refried tooters!
