Scott and I went last night, had a great time, the hayride was a total blast!!! Shining twins were a hoot.....nearly died laughing when they jumped up on the hayride. Funniest thing was the big tough kid in the front of the wagon, he was totally feaked out a few times, and couldn't believe he actually was scared (at least that's what he told me). Was great to see Crash and Beth up there, saw Cindy too. What a lot of fun!!!! Had to laugh, of course it was muddy......*L* *L* We really enjoyed ourselves. Was sooooooo odd walking around up there at night, but so much fun at that same time!

If it was the same guy that was running his mouth during my witch speech--he backed away really quickly when I came near him!

The hay ride can be scary. There are "freaks" coming at you from all sides around the woods. The "shows" have some scary things happening also, like toe eating.

Finally got around to checking out everything while I was there. (these things are no fun wandering through alone you know) The friends had a good time and we got the big guy to do more than I thought we would.
Couple thoughts: Kat, you need to get someone to rig the maze with an extra section of fence wall to block a dead end after people are in it and around a corner (just temporarily).
The haunted house worked well in all terms. Just enough of everything in there and well spaced.
The hayride needs another lurking beastie or event somewhere between the witch burning and Piper's Pub. it just looked like something should be there and it's not. Another good spot for something would be just before we get to the witches cauldron, someone visiting was standing near a tree warning the hayride to turn back before it was too late. It was a very amusing thing for a guest to do and would probably help keep the pedestrians out of the off limits area.
Last thought, and this one is the big deal. Tippy was cutting some corners on the paths and I got the hell beat out of me with branches to the face. SOMEBODY needs to get out there this week and trim the lower branches early in the route. (probably from the feast hall to the faerie forest area) I'd recommend just jumping on the wagon with some tools and riding the route looking for offending branches.
Hope to get back out once more this last weekend.

My husband comes home this weekend. That does sound like fun, though. It is hard to scare with only one or two of us running around the maze. I did have a blast! There is an act between the witch burning and Pipers. Genna's brother plays like a red neck axe murderer type thingy. He is very good. Maybe he couldn't make it the night you were there.

His not being there would be what I was expecting. the spot where the fortune tellers set up their tent and the stage area both looked primed for something to be popping out and it sort of seemed like an odd tension builder with no payoff wasted right before things relaxed by driving through the open area in the center of town.

We're trying our best to get all the spots filled, but it's hard to have enough cast. This is new and we're doing the best we can. But with a lot of people, they can't get the time off from work. So please bare with us. I think the things we do have are pretty darn awesome. I've heard a lot of good reviews from the patrons. Last week a lot of the people on cast were sick, so they couldn't be there. Come back this weekend and things will be a lot better. It is Halloween weekend after all

I am sure blueguy wasn't bad mouthing. Just expressing his opinion. Most people here are well aware of how things work when it comes to volunteer cast and other obligations. We also know that this all came together in a short period of time, without a lot of time to plan. Hopefully this will continue to grow over the years and evolve into something bigger and better.
Do not take the comments here as criticisms. Rather, think of them as people trying to give ideas of what would make their experience better. Even negative feedback can be a very useful source of ideas and different ways of approaching things. We all want this to be as successful as possible. Both to help Larry, and that we may continue to enjoy it for years to come.

I ended up working the Maze of Terror again last night. I had so much fun. (Becky, Brie & Nathalie, thank you for making it fun. You are all good "screamers.) Thanks Sarah and Brett for letting me be a part of Halloween Knights. I will work again for you next year. I saw Trevor lurking around, but, did not see him in the maze. Sorry I couldn't leave my spot to say hello. BlueGuy stopped by to chat for a bit. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
