I also ventured out this past weekend (being a part of it, I felt I should you know... be there) I cannot claim any credit for the decorations, but who ever was in charge of it did an amazing job. It's eerie throughout most of the shire. The hayride area looks almsot unreconizable (for more reasons then simply the lack of noise and crowds) We had a pretty good turn out for somethign so early in the halloween season. But I expect more and more people. So help out if you can. Just liek the faire, this type of deal does its best promotions with word of mouth. So come, enjoy and spread the word. And hopefully I'll eat you all later... Errr see you all. yeah,....

hey Hank, did they ever get rides? Elaine thought there were going to be carnival rides. I've been curious about this. Don't know if I'll make it up there. I have to work Thursday , Friday , Saturday and Sunday again this week. And of course , I work afternoon shift. I know I really enjoyed helping set things up. Take care. Lynne

No rides that I recall. The Pirate ship was open for business, if you consider that a ride. I don't believe Pipers were operating any of theirs, like that log swing thing. So I would have to say the only "ride" I saw was the Hayride. No rolly coaster, nor Tilt -a-Whirl with which to keep the neighbors awake. HANK.

I am going tomorrow, Saturday. Liam and his girlfriend Dani will be with me. I think we may get dressed up (in Halloween attire, not Faire attire.) We will be there around 6ish and stay a little while.

We went to Halloween Knights tonight. We had a lot of fun. The hay ride is a must. We went on it twice. You need to go on it when it is dark. (Thanks, Dave and Danny for scaring the crap out of Dani:-) And Bunnie, Liam does not want to be your mate!) Who plays the Red Neck after the two burning the witch? I didn't get a good look at his face. Watch out for Tippy's driving. Hold on.
The haunted house is done very well. Just remember to look up.
The decorations around the site are pretty cool. You need to try the deep fried Orios. (Over at Sky Chairs )
Sorry Kara, when we first arrived I didn't recognize you until we came back from visiting Bunnie.
The cast does a very good job. Kudos to all the cast and workers. It was a good night.

I got out there on the weekend and had a good time without going through any of the attractions. If nothing lese, it's nice to take a look aorund with some color in the trees and wandering in the dark is outright interesting.
Had a good time looking things over with Hank (who I now owe a tasty beverage next season) and talking to a couple other bodies here and there.
If I have one bit of constructive criticism it would be to add something to draw people further into the grounds. Maybe a haunting storyteller down by the stocks or something (speaking of which, the stocks were empty the other night, seemed odd not to have a beastly occupant of some sort)
I'm sending out word to my various crews to get themselves over this coming weekend, it should be relatively warm so there is no excuse not to drop by.

I was hoping to attend this weekend, but of course more crap got in the way. I will be there next Friday though. I'm even taking the day off work, and not working Saturday, just to be sure I can get up there. Can't wait!

dropped by again in the rain last night for moral support if nothing else.
Here is stuff that jumped out at me. (in my head, not literally but the cast was doing a good job of doing that to the other guests)
Town square and the path over to Piper's Pub was just too dark. if that is open to walk down to (which it is) it needs to have a little illumination. I'm used to wandering in the dark and had a little bit of an issue navigating that.
The off limits to foot traffic areas need better definition in the dark near the witches on the hayride. They have commented about folks wandering in and the signs are not noticable in the dark. Possibly posting someone to haunt that spot and "scare" guests back in the proper direction might help.
An active Haunted guide might not be a bad idea either. There were not a ton of guests thanks to the rain but I still ended up giving directions to at least 3 groups of where to go. (and I was standing between the hayride starting point and the haunted house pointing left and right to people that could not find those things) So a "Ghostly greeter" probably needs to be considered for next season or even next weekend.
Best to you all.
