This isn't very expensive at all. about the same as most Haunted events around. From what I hear it is going to be a lot of fun and lots to do even if you don't do the Haunted attractions. Sounds kinda interesting. I for sure will be there. Can't wait.

What kind of info do you want?? I can prpbably answer any questions you have. You can get presale tickets online. I'm not sure if we are doing ticket outlets for Halloween, but I'll check with Cindy.
As far as garb goes, it's not medieval themed, but it is halloween so any costume would be acceptable. Have fun with it!!
It's a Haunted house, a haunted Hayride, a Haunted maze along with games and rides and some other small stuff in spirit with the season!

The flyer also says food. Which food booths will be open?
And yeah, I was wondering if there were going to be any ticket outlets other than the faire office.

Ok. Now I think I may be a little confused Got the newsletter in my email yesterday. It says "Admission to Halloween Knights is free! (So is the parking!) Come in and enjoy the food, game, and merchandise vendors in our haunted village. And should you wish to enjoy the Rides and astounding and fearsome Attractions, advance tickets are now available for purchase (at a discount!) on the GLMF website." It says admission is free, then it talks about tickets for sale. So, does this mean you actually can get in the gate for free, but you can't do anything without having a ticket?

I think there's going to be some venders and food along the pathway by gate, and inside the feast hall there's ghost stories, some games, they're trying to get a projector or something for old movies, and the pirates cove games are open. I think the tickets are for the haunted house and hayride.

OK gang, Bunnie asked me to post this with the hope of clearing things up. If you wish to come up to Avaloch and simply walk about the shire, THAT PART IS FREE. If you wish to go through the Haunted House, or the Maze, or partake in the Hay ride, or in any other rides they may have on site that will cost you. HEPZ. Bunnie made no mention of any clambake, so I know nothing about that. If indeed they are having one, well, I would assume you would pay for that the same as you would any food vendor. But, I know nothing of the cost. I'm not even sure if they are accepting REAL money or if you have to use the Avaloch bucks. It starts tonight, so go check it out. HANK.

Hank. The clambake is something mentioned in the newsletter. IT is not at the faire. medievalfaire.com/graphics/HorseRescueClambake09.pdfIT is at Peacefull Pastures horse rescue in Madison. And thanks for the clarification on Halloween Knights. It is as I assumed. But I wanted confirmation, because you know the saying about assumptions.

I ventured out to the Faire this past Saturday night and I have to say they did a fantastic job of turning the place into a Transylvanian village. with the lighting and decorations they have in place it is really quite "spooky" in the dark. I only did the walk thru, and did not go into the haunted castle nor the hayride. I did hear a lot of screams emanating from the castle, so I would have to surmise that a lot of folks were enjoying getting the crap scared out of them.
Most of the vendors are set up along the path from the gazebo where the musicians play in the morning down to the first aid tent. Pipers Pub is open at their usual spot back in the shire. I stopped there for an Orange Cream, and with the way they have their lighting set up it looked like a glass of blood. I don't know if they intentionally tried for that effect, but it was pretty damn cool none the less.
In the feast hall they have video arcade games set up and "Crash" is sitting by the fire place doing storytelling. Ghost stories I would assume. Since the only people in there at that time was myself, Crash, and Tasha, the lovely lady who was walking about selling cigars back at faire in the summer, we just sat by the fire and chatted for awhile.
The food is pretty good. I had a steak sandwich, (five bucks) and they are accepting real money.
All in all, it is pretty damn neat, and you should go and check it out. The faire looks really different at night with the spooky lighting setup they have. You'll like it.
HANK.
