This thread is to remember our dear departed friend. This thread is for those of us who knew Steph, and/or had our lives touched by her in any way. She was a good friend, both in real life, and here on the boards. She will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts and minds forever. Many will not be able to make it to the services especially since our faire family is already starting to scatter until we meet again next season. So please post your thoughts here.

Kind friends and companions, come join in my rhyme Come lift up your voices in chorus with mine Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain For we may or might never all meet here again
...
My footsteps may falter my wit, it may fail My course may be challenged by November gale E'er fortune shall prove to be friend or be foe You will always be with me wherever I go.
Never has the true meaning behind "Health" been so...apparent, so needed, so...true.
Thank you Steph for giving of yourself to make Avaloch beautiful and magical.
Your spirit will live there, you know. And each summer when she awakens from the mists of time, you'll be there--in our heart's home. Welcoming us back, reminding us of the beauty and the magic we all share.
Rest in peace, goddess.

her smile and laughter will be missed for she had brought some degree of happiness to each and everyone of us that knew her.
May her spirit find as much happiness in the after that she had shared in life with us.

You were amazing the first time I met you. You were so nice and generous to a noob to the faire. Thank you. You were a fun person and you will be missed.

People do not die for us immediately, but remain bathed in a sort of aura of life which bears no relation to true immortality but through which they continue to occupy our thoughts in the same way as when they were alive. It is as though they were traveling abroad.
~Marcel Proust
Stephanie, enjoy your travels "abroad" and don't forget to drop us a "postcard" now and then to let us know how you are...I'm sure there will be many signs at Faire that you are about, but we will miss you all the same.
Comforting thoughts and prayers be with your family and friends...

Wow, I met Steph. through a mutual friend maybe a year before I started attending faire We never really spent much time socializing and it was barely a passing acquaintance but she always has been a central part of what I consider our summer clan.
The oddest thing for me is that the one memory that is standing out of her (and I know this is the one that will stay in my head instead of any others) comes from late saturday afternoon. I just happened to wander past the pickle grove, I'd been by several times that day, it's nothing unusual but I happened to glance over and at an hour that most of use are starting to drag our heels and look run down, she was positively radiant. We didn't talk or even make eye contact as she was finishing up with a customer at he time but it just struck me as one of those "all is right with the world because a pickle goddess is smiling" moments.
She may have left us but she has also left much with us.

This is such a shock. She was my last hug at Eddies the only weekend we made it up there this year. I am having a hard time grasping this. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.
Stephy, I will look to the the sun, clouds and stars to talk with you. I will miss you. Kat

This is terrible news. And although I didn't know her very well, I know that this shouldn't have happened. It's such a heartbreaking thing to hear. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. I know we will all miss her smiling face at faire next year...May she be in a better place. And let her be happy wherever that place is..
Love, Kayla Marie

"I'd rather live, than live forever."
I'm happy to know that Steph lived, not just alone, but among us all.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I may not be a "local" GLMFer anymore, but you are all still my dearest Rennie-friends. I got to know all the pickle goddesses for the first time last year, when I started taking advantage of the cold water.... Steph was always so kind and helpful. She made me feel like part of the family right away. And I finally took a pic of the pickle grove before I left this year....Poison Ivy wasn't there, so it was just Steph and Dill. I'm so glad I have that now.
I too shall borrow some words, these from an Irish poet named Katherine Tynan.
You were a part of the green country, Of the grey hills and the quiet places. They are not the same, the fields and the mountains, Without the lost and beloved places, And you were a part of the sweet country.
…….
You were a part of the fields and the mountains, Everyone knew you, everyone loved you, All the world was your friend and neighbor, The women smiled and the men approved you. They are not the same, the fields and the mountains.

Steph was a very special part of my life, it seems so unreal that she is no longer with us..
"Help me to live so that I am always ready to meet you in joy at the end of my life."
Steph will always remain; in the warmth of the sun on my face; that gentle rain that brings a cleansing and healing;in the laughter of the wind. We shall meet again.

I was shocked when I received Dave's first message about Stephanie's condition. Without internet abilities while on vacation off work, I had no way to check these boards for updates, but BB Dave kept me right up to date. Thanks for that.
Love to everyone. To the memories of Steph. To everyone's love for each other.
