I'll say my 'official' personal farewells tonight, to Steph and another recently lost loved one, but I do belive that lovely ceremony at the party did it best.
Here's to you, Steph, and Kyra....I miss you both so much...........see you in the Summerlands.

Weird. I keep seeing things and thinking 'Oh, perfect for Steph for Christmas.......' Oops. This is gonna be a strange Christmas.

One of my favorite traditional Christmas songs is 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas'. Especially the lines '......faithful friends who are dear to us gather near to us once more....and '....through the years we all will be together if the fates allow......'
Needless to say, I'm hearing it a bit differently this year. Merry, merry Christmas, my dear friend, where ever you are. I miss you.
Oh, and for the record, Bigelow's Vanilla Caramel tea is AMAZING! ;D

Someone very dear to me told me while he was still among us that you do not ever really lose a Friend but gain a guardian angel. He became such an angel long ago and I can still feel him by my side from time to time.

I know it may seem weird to be quoting Harry Potter, especially the movies, but in the third one Sirius is talking to Harry and he says: "The ones we love never really leave us. We can always find them here. In our hearts."

Thanks guys...............and yeah, I DO know that, talk to her all the time. And make sure I keep my promise to her to try things she would have liked. Something we both had in common, that.
I especially get the feeling that she's near when I do something I know she'd have laughed at me for......or rolled her eyes. Or both! She'd NOT have appreciated the obscene gingerbread men Dave and I made, but she'd have gotten a kick out of watching us making them!
Just that sometimes I can't help but wish she were HERE, to talk to, and laugh with, and this time of year is a little hard. I'll 'muddle through somehow', to further quote that song. Just a little hard some days...............................
And Isolde.........there is nothing wrong with quoting a truth, no matter where you find it! ;D

Listening to the weather, another winter storm moving in, thinking about how much we've already had. Comes to me that Steph would have been loving this. She genuinely LIKED winter. Somehow, we remained friends despite that! ;D ;D

Dill I also think of how much she would be loving this winter. There was the 1 time when I went for the mail and coming back from the mailbox it was snowing heavy with the fat flakes that makes the sky a heavy white blanket and she just popped into my head.

Okay, admittedly, even Steph wouldn't have appreciated all that crap yesterday......especially if she had to drive in it!

And another regrettable thing about death is the ceasing of your own brand of magic which took a whole life to develope and market- the quips, the witticisms, the slant adjusted to a few, those loved ones nearest the lip of the stage, their soft faces blanched in the footlight glow, their laughter close to tears, their tears confused with their diamond earrings their warm pooled breath in and out with your heartbeat, their response and your performance twinned. The jokes over the phone.the memories packed In the rapid access file. The whole act. Who will do it again? That's it: no one; imitators and decendants aren't the same.

Yeah, it struck me as fitting the moment I read it. Though in truth, it fits all of us in the end.
