All I know is we will be happy to be able to see the whole faire this year and nothing like last year.
Just sorry to be missing out on the cleanup but it's taken this long for Sir John to be able to do what was needed around here last year. And no still not back to work for what he needs to do. But close. So no simple break of the leg there.
Larry's crew well they can put the rest of us to shame. And I'm not being just nice. I'm use to working as most of use are that do the cleanup but they run circles. So HUZZAH to them and I trust them since it is their livelihood.

Just a bit of info I saw today on the Rogues board....right now the Rogues have no plans to be at GLMF. Any idea who the performers will be for Celtic/Highland Games/Kilts R Us/Whatever We're Calling It Weekend?? Doggies in kilts....cats as bagpipes....

I am the type that will be happy with just about anything when it comes to the acts or entertainment. If I like them, I come watch again.
If not, I go to an act I do like. Or I go bullsh!te with with friends.. Or I go the pub and drink. Most commonly, I do all three at the same time.
See, regardless of which acts / jousting troupe / whatever returns, I win!
I'm glad I'm not in-the-mix for such discussions. My logic would be: 1) I very much prefer to drink at the Stumble Inn compared to the other pubs. 2) If the joust is stellar, I'll be at the joust a lot more. 3) The joust doesn't cost me additional money to attend. 4) If the joust sucks, I'll be at the Stumble more often, spending more money on beer. 5) Therefore, if the joust sucks, the Faire gets more money from me.
And who really wants that logic to prevail?!

I can't argue with that logic.... I can't believe that I am sober, and that made sense to me.
I want a joust where they actually keep points and keep score. (I'm okay, if they throw out the points at the end to have a mellee.) I just like keeping track of shivered lances, direct hits, and un-horsing... and cornelle-a-cornelle. It's the snob in me.
And yes, Brother Black-Knight, you know EXACTLY where I am going with this. Fully admit my snobbery.

Beer Blessing's you go to the Pub?
I find that hard to believe, last season you paid rent at The Stumble Inn.
But hey, it's only a seasonal faire, correct? he he

I guess I am a snob too....but yes....BB's logic does trump all the discussion about jousting.....if jousting the is fake & bake, I will be just at Griffin's or watching music acts more.

Ahoy! Here is another entertainment update. This list is nearing completion, although there are certainly a few more additions expected. It looks like we are going to have a ton of entertainment this year with a great Joust as well as a great Chess Match! We are also planning the Highland Pipes Competition to occur on the 3rd weekend (the Celtic weekend). $500 Grand Prize! Details to come. If you know of any groups that would be interested, let them know and steer them to this site when the details are posted. Also, the auditions went well and it looks like we are going to have a real fleshed out village with a lot of memorable characters!

Larry Rabin??? Gods! I haven't BS'd with Larry since the Armor Court re-opening awhile back! Awesome! Owain?? Hmmm...his Tour Dates don't include GLMF...but I'm not about to jinx it... Loony Lucy and Giacomo! Wonderful! 1/2 of "Empty Hats" is better than none! Combined with our wonderful regulars...the music portion of the Faire really seems to be kicked up! Love it!!!
