Well, time is drawing closer and very soon the weather will break and we will be getting ready for the 2008 season at GLMF. I spoke with Sarah today as I had to run to her place to assist her with a car problem and we talked about some of the changes we hope to bring about this year at Faire. Now! before you all get crazy, let me say it will still be the same faire you all know and love but we hope to spruce it up a bit, kinda like what was done to the front gate last year. Cleaning, painting, some nice new signs, that sorta stuff. There is no set in stone starting date yet, The weather has got to get a lot better for one thing. But when Sarah wants us she will let us know. So, for those of you who want to help make Faire a better, shinier place, well, hunt up your work gloves, and boots and be ready for the call to arms. On a good note, there will be fewer trees to cut up and deal with this spring. Sarah installed a wood burner in her house so she has been sucking up all the fallen trees to keep warm. Ya just gotta love a woman who can handle a chain saw. More information will be posted as it is forthcoming. HANK.

Lord Maitiu...Indeed good sir, as I stated in my first posting, as information is forthcoming I will pass it along. In the past we usually started around the first weekend of April, but the actual start time rests with Sarah. I know she spoke of doing some inside work in the feast hall, so she may up the start time to the end of March as we will be inside out of the weather. But again, that is her call. So just standby and check in on this thread from time to time for updates.

Man, if the faire is getting hit anywhere near as bad as we are, we are going to have our hands full. There are trees and branches down all over town tonight.

Trev, I have a Birch tree in the front, you should see it towering over the front walk..
This is getting to be a P.I.A.
Enough already!!
C'mon Spring.....

I can hardly wait for warm air to come and last more than 15 min. While chipping the ice off my car to pry open the door this morning all I could think of was the heat on a faire weekend. A little splash of water and fanning to get relief.....

The faire got hit hard this week. And it's still getting beat. There is about 18+ inches of snow to trek through so we havent done a walk-thru yet. There are several trees down but in order to keep my house warm i've been using them....kill two birds with one stone. Hopefully this will be the end of winter! If the weather breaks, i would like to start cleanup at the end of the month. It's in Nature's hands now!!
I will keep you posted! Sarah

OK gang. Bunnie spoke with Sarah a couple of days ago and we will be starting cleanup this Saturday, April 5th at or about 9:00AM. Don't exactly know what she has planned for us. I know she has spoken about some "inside" work in the feast hall. SO! dress accordingly, bring your boots and work gloves, and maybe a snack if you plan on staying all day, and meet at the front office, or if you come a little later and no one is there, try the feast hall.

A bit too soon for me. Got way too much going on here at the moment.
Sorry I will be missing out on the fun, but will be along in probably 2 or 3 weeks.

Its Time!!! We will be getting started this Saturday. Meet at the faire office at 10am. We will start with clearing all the fallen branches up the driveway and work our way back. If it's too cold or rainy we will move into the Feast Hall and start to organize the kitchen and the hall itself!!
If anyone has questions fell free to email me here or at Pantageous@aol.com. See you Saturday!
