Can't believe I forgot to start this thread So, tell us some of the cast bits you have seen that have caught your attention, or that you found funny or cute. I have a ton, but will hold off on posting any for a while to not influence anyone else.

I was usually walking briskly through the lane, so I didn't see very much unfortunately, but I must mention a brilliant bit that really made me smile. There was a "Potato Game" held in the main square by the souvenir booth held by Miss Hilton. I loved it. It got the patrons involved, had them blindfolded, and really made a large group of people chuckle. Kudos to Lei for that one.

That was a sanctioned 'special event' the potato shuffle as listed in the brochure. This week at 4pm it will be something different.

Eh. I think she still deserves the kudos, she's worked really really hard on that.

Actually, she is really swamped with lots of responsibility this season. First is the peasant dancing in the morning and afternoon. Then she is in charge of the special events. Then last weekend she also had to do beer school Somehow, she still found time to do bits in the street and interact with patrons.

Uh, what cast bits?? Unlike Trevor who follows them around taking photos, I pay scant attention to them for the most part. But! with that being said, I do travel the lanes all day going from one stage to another to catch shows from the joust field to the chess board and I must say I have seen almost NO street activity this year compared to past years. I see Jinxy quite often near the swing chair booth performing on the tree stump. I see Robin Hood and the Sheriff from time to time in the chairs where the jail use to be and that is about it.
The one young lady who played one of the nuns last year, don't know what her character is this year, did a cute little bit fishing out of a cup down by Friar's Plucks that made me laugh. But truely, the most I ever see of the cast is when they do the parade. HANK.

Well speaking as a cast member, I will say we are trying to get a bigger presence out there on the street. A few things need to be considered though, we have a smaller cast than in previous years and also there is a lot of cast involvment in shows, including the joust.
That being said, I myself have been trying to get out there and do a "hit and run" bits as they are so called, while I am on my way to one thing or another.
I know Nanny (Peach) is always recruiting dogs, babies, and moms and dads alike for her herd.
I think the above factors may have something to do with not having the giant street bits that we are all used too, but I for one think that everyone is doing a really awesome job!!
I've had more people complimant me for balancing a mug on my head than I can count. That's just something little I do, to get people to pay attention.
Keep an eye out for us! That cast is smaller and the bits may be a wee bit smaller but they are out there!! We're working hard to give you guys a great show!!
Kudos to my castmates! Keep up the good work!!!
Love- Kara

Yes, the bits are smaller, and a lot more one-to-one this season. But I see it going on everywhere and I think you are actually reaching more patrons than before. A couple of the non-faire local boards I belong to and read on have faire threads started by me. Trying to get more people to try the place out. Those who have come, have commented on the interaction with the cast. How fun and different it is. Many don't engage, but just watch as they walk by. But others have talked about specific things they got dragged into. Like being recruited to help find the sheep. Or learning the proper way to escort/be escorted, and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head.

Now for a couple examples I have seen. Not going to list favorites, as there are just way too many. But I will mention a few choice ones that stick in my mind from this past weekend. As Hank mentioned, the fishmonger has a great bit. Her sitting there, fishing in her cup. Go ahead. Ask her about it. I am sure you will enjoy the answers Nanny is awesome! Her bits about the sheep are great! And humorous. And memorable from what I have seen of patrons that run into her again. Saw a great bit of fun down on the path between Princessories and the mud pit. Alan Adale, and Cowleen were sitting on either side of the path tossing a stone back and forth, trying to get it to land in the others mug. Yeah, a simple bit. But fun and fascinating. We must have sat and watched them do this for a good 10 minutes or so. And lots of people walking by got a kick out of it. And even tried a few shots themselves! And I must mention Jinxy's death scene upon the stumps in town square. Check it out if you happen to be in the area during one. I have tons more, but I will save them for later. And Hank. I don't follow the cast around. I just run into them during my wanderings in the shire.

Trevor...You do seem to run into them much more than I do in our wandering about. As Kara stated, the cast is smaller and a whole lot of them are involved with shows like Peter Pan. AND! the Faire is a big place, so if the cast is doing a bit by Pipers Pub, for example, and I am wandering the lane by the Alpaca guy, well! you can see why I might miss them. I tend to focus more on catching the stage shows like Axle, Broon, and Johnny Phoenix, to name but a few, Whilst you wander about interacting with the cast, pucking rats and in general socialize with everyone. If I happen upon a "bit" and I'm not in a hurry to get to the next show I wish to see I will stand and watch, but I really don't actively seek them out. HANK.

Yeah, we are a bit different in our habbits. Also, if I see a cast member I will generaly walk over to them to see what they are doing. If it is anywhere near to being on the way to where ever we are gping.

Oh man. Had a great bit with Little John on Sunday. I was just sitting there in front of Renboots with Fidgit. Relaxing and enjoying the breeze. Think it was around 5:30 or so. We were busy teasing and annoying Brandon, and I had my back to the lane/town square. Next thing I know, I hear Little John issuing a challenge to any and all takers. After clarifying the challenge (since I didn't have a quarter staff, we settled on stone, parchment, shears) I accepted. Best 2 of 3. It was a close, and very evenly matched battle of skill and luck. Especially since we kept getting distracted by the other merry men doing something with the boats, while Jinxy appeared to be swimming beside them [scratches head] We took some time to prepare ourselves. Stretching and limbering up, so as not to injure ourselves during the contest. After a few draws, Little John finally threw a shear to my parchment and took the first one. I regained my composure, and fortified my resolve. Back into the thick of things. More draws. Until finally ........ I threw a paper to his stone! Yay! A win for me, and now things were tied [dun dun dun] We took a moment to prepare for what may be the last chance either of us would get........
Finally we want.
A draw Again.
The tension builds.
Again we go.....
And the result
I lost [hangs head in shame] I was so devastated, I can't even remember what the round consisted of. I just know I had been bested. I graciously congradulated the winner. He had bested me fare and square, though I at least made him work for it.
I am now in rigorous training so I can hopefully redeme myself before the end of the run. I know he has never been bested, but I have hope that I can bring that streak to it's end.

Ahahaha! That was really funny. Especially as you two were readying yourselves.
Little John was stretching and cracking his knuckles, while Trevor was going about fixing his pants. It was hilarious.
I never did find out what the hell was going on with the Boats. I meant to ask Greg (Friar Tuck) but I forgot. ^_^

the boats!!!
ok, so Sir Guy and WIll Scarlet had a contest and they had to woo jinxy and whoever she picked won.
so guy did a bit of silent wooing which was good. then Will went into a monologue of jinxy's loveliness and she jumped on him and carried him away. Sir Guy followed and whilst jinxy was attempting to carry scarlet away friar tuck came upon the scene with much. Will kept screaming "GET CINDA!!! GET CINDA!!!" and "O GOD JUST ARREST ME! I'M AN ENEMY!!! arrest me!" and so sir guy did and he said "SO Scarlet. you can choose your fate. Either you marry this erm....LOVELY woman...*jinxy flicks tongue and licks lips* or you can be sentenced to death. "SO....let me get this straight...i can DIE...or i could marry jinxy...*wild look in eyes* ...KILL ME" "huzzah, so now we have to settle on a method of death...I CHOOSE a natural death after being married to jinxy." "WOOOHOOO!!!! comere SCARLET BABY!!!" "NOOOOOOOOOO" Friar was wedding us and whispered "don't worry i have a way to get out of this" we were wed. jinxy kissed him and he got color all over his face. "I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU HAD A WAY OUT!!!!!!" "wait! wait! we can't drink to the union, null and void." so then he got out and tried to 'jump ship' with Robin, friar tuck followed and jinxy said "O NO YOU DON'T" and swan beside them eventually latching onto will's arm and not letting go. much tried to come between her and will to no avail. Little John ended up stepping in and pulling jinxy off. she was upset.
there you go. one of the longest bits i have EVER heard of.
