To Whom It May Concern,
Due to Moral, Ethical, and Artistic differences between myself and the owner of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire I will never again work for Larry Rickard or Phoenix Productions. I feel that the work we did the past two season breathed new life into GLMF and I am very very proud of what the cast has been able to achieve. I am grateful to everyone for all the kind words and pats on the back. Larry does not like to discuss numbers, but we did realize a twenty percent increase in attendance this past season. I will miss all of you very much. I hope that our paths will cross again somewhere other than Avaloch.
John Davis

While most unpleasant news. Sadly it was not unexpected either. I wish nothing but the best for both you personally, and H&S professionally. And I am deeply troubled by the ramifications of this on the future of GLMF.

I would never consider cast or working at GLMF outside of running a few errands, because I know how good it is to be a playtron. I hope we see you in Avaloch in that role at the very least!!

You will be missed, my friend.
There was a mantra that I learned while working for the state back in my collage days. I want to share it here as it seems appropriate:
We the unwilling..... Lead by the unknowing..... Have done so much..... With so little..... For so long..... That we are now qualified to do virtually anything, with nothing.
You are definitely qualified.
My best wishes.
Sean

It is sad to see you say such horrible things about the owner of the Medieval Faire. I have known him for over ten years both in working for him and on a personal basis. He is the most moral and ethical person I have ever met. His staff has done so much every year for the faire. The faire doesn't run on an entertainment director alone. The entertainment is only a part of what goes on at the faires. Don't forget all the wonderful crafters and friends that we all make every year. I personally don't come for the entertainment anyways. I come to see my friends and to eat the great food. Sometimes I think we all forget how much work goes into the faire. The volunteers can tell you what they alone do and that isn't counting what the site crew does, the office does etc., etc. The faire will go on and will be better than ever as long as we are always there to support it and help it grow. I for one will always be around. It is the best place on earth.
Just curious John, how do you know the faire had a 20% increase when I have inside information and found out that the tickets are never counted.

I have to say this, he did not say that he was immoral, just they had their differences, and furthermore he did not mention anything horrible about him again, he only stated they had their differences

Gosh that sounds like sour vinegar to me. Usually when I say I have "moral" or "ethical" differences with another person I am implying that they are immoral or unethical - John, I hope that isn't how you intended it to sound, because that would make it seem like a personal attack and I don't want to believe that you are that type of person. You will be missed for your enthusiasm, hard work and abilities as a fine entertainer. The best to you in your future endeavors. "Always take the high road - your feet stay drier"

I'm very sorry to hear that, I also find it deeply disturbing. I do wish you the best, you worked magic and brought the faire back to life when it was in a coma. Take care.
Alright, now what?! Where do we go from here?

It is sad to see you say such horrible things about the owner of the Medieval Faire. I see nothing horrible about what John stated. His exact words were that he had Moral, Ethical, and Artistic differences with Larry. All that says is that they did not see eye-to-eye on several things. Not that Larry is bad, or wrong, but they they could not come to an agreement in several areas. Mainly due to a basic difference on how they see certain things. I have plenty of moral and ethical differences with many that I consider friends. Does not make them wrong and me right. Just means that we see things differently. While this can work in a friendship, it rarely works with business. Don't know any specifics about this, but I do know I have heard people in the box office talk numbers before. Compairing day-to-day and year-to-year numbers. So, someone must have some idea. Someone must keep track of how much is coming in through the box office. If for no other reason than simple accounting for financial reasons.
