If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all I've been working on the damn bathroom over at the other house, off and on all summer. Finally got the tub surround in over the weekend. So, I've been stopping after work to finish up all the little things. Thought I would be wrapping the project up today. Turned the water on, and checked for leaks. Cool, none of the pipes are leaking. Try the tub. Cool, still no leaks, and the drain doesn't leak either. Open up the faucet on the sink to bleed those line. Damn thing starts leaking at the handle. I didn't even work on that! Never even touched the sink! Ok, I'll deal with that tomorrow. Next I put the toilet back on. Kinda get it seated on the wax ring. Start tightening the bolts up a bit. Figure I would turn the water on to it so the weight of the full tank can help seat it. Water starts leaking from between the tank and the bowl FML Turn the water back off, and do what I can to clean up all the water everywhere with a little scrub sponge. The only thing I have over there that will do any good what-so-ever. I just wanted to wrap this up so I can call it done! Is that too much to ask

'Member what Murphy said, " Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." This is in the house where you USE to live, right? And all this stuff worked fine ( like the sink and the toilet) then, no? So why did everything go to Hell now? Who knows? Shit just seems to happen for no rhyme or reason.

Just discovered a small mess in my basement that could have been much worse. Haven't been down there for several days, went down today to get something and found water on the floor. Not totally unusual down there, but this was in an area that doesn't normally get wet, and there was quite a bit. First thought was the sump pump quit working. But when I got over there, I found that wasn't it. Instead, the line from the sump pump came apart. Right before the check-valve. So, when the pump came on, it was pumping the water into the basement, instead of out of it. Luckily, it wasn't spraying anything important, but it's a good thing I found it. As the force of the water tipped the pump over as well.
