Fly by Night is my favorite...... and if this explains everything - they're Candadian. Course then again - I love Weird Al Yankovic and ball rooming dancing, and Michael Buble (also Canadian) and Rocky Top Tennesee. so yeah I like lots of stuff..... I don't like rap that uses more profanity than normal words.

How odd! Dill, you despise Rush, and SwordSchoolGroupie you love Rush. And me, hell, I didn't even know Limbaugh could sing. Shows ya what I know! HANK. GOOD ONE, HANK!!! I nearly fell off my chair laughing.

'Roxanne', The Police! Just fell all over the cats getting to the radio to turn it down!
Funny thing is, I like The Police well enough, and lyrically, it isn't a bad song. I just HATE the way Sting's shrieking through it! Uggh!

SwordSchoolGroupie, we seem to have SUCH contrasting tastes in music that it's positively comic!
But then, that's the reason I created this thread in the first place - taste in music is infinitely subjective, and it's always so much fun to see everyone's opinions on the subject. ;D
As to my song for today, I think I'm just going to dis pretty much the whole genre of Rap! Granted, there have been one or two songs that I didn't mind TOO much, but in general, the whole genre leaves me cold. Just getting old, I guess, and since I currently work in a place where virtually EVERYONE is both black ( don't read that wrong...I couldn't care less about race) and 20 - 25 years younger than I am, I'm hearing WAAAAY too much rap for my taste lately!
( Of course, they probably don't appreciate all that metal I've been blasting into the parking lot with either! Weird old white woman!! ;D ;D ;D)

Anything by Brittany Spears......
Sorry, I just watched the MTV Awards re-cast and I could not watch her. I personally think she should start saving her money.

Gotta agree about Brittany...caught just a bit of her performance on the t.v. at work...talk about phoning it in! Of course, musically, I've never been able to stomach ANYTHING she's ever done. Or, really, anything in that entire 'girlie' genre! Simply NOT my style.

"Crazy" by Patsy Cline or Loretta Lynn or one of those female country singers. I can't keep 'em straight.

So I'm lying there in bed this morning, contemplating the holiday, thinking I've got to get a move on and get the turkey in the oven, the stuffing mixed, the cranberry relish on the stove...........When all of a sudden, to my horror, what comes blaring over the radio waves but bloody JINGLE BELL ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I LIKE Christmas music ( sorry Dave! ), altho I'm none too fond of that particular tune, BUT CAN WE PLEASE WAIT UNTIL THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING TO PLAY IT !!! ? Evidently not, since I heard several more before giving up and putting in a CD. I will now proceed to go and stuff my turkey to the melodious strains of Alice Cooper and Poison. Not exactlly holiday, but better than Rockin' Around the f**king Christmas Tree!!! Have a happy Thanksgiving, everyone! ;D ;D ;D

We can wait much longer than a few days to play that particular song.
How about until I go deaf? That'll work for me.
Same goes for Silent Night. If it's so damned Silent, then shut the frack up!
