Greetings All, I really enjoyed playing for you all at GLMF on the final weekend. Hopefully, I'll be asked back next year for more weekends. The kindness and hospitality that I was shown was appreciated and will be happily repaid if you visit Morelandshire. I have seen no mention here of some things that I know would be enjoyed by all on this thread. Pittsburgh is a couple of hours away from Avaloch but I'm sure some of you are close enough to the 'burgh to take advantage of Celtic events here so here are a few that are coming up: The Pittsburgh Irish Festival - September 5 - 7 www.pghirishfest.org/newSite/index.htmlI'll be there on Friday the 5th only because I'll be at PRF on Saturday and Sunday. the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival - Aug 23 - September 28 www.pgh-renfest.com/index.htmlregardless of the lack of updates to the web site, I'll be there all 13 days as well as Porter and Stout and many others My personal web page, www.pittsburghirish.org/griffith, has my performance schedule in the area so please check it out and come see me when you're in town. My YouTube site, www.youtube.com/user/TerryGriffith1 will have videos of Avaloch soon. Hope to see you soon, Slan go foil, Terry

Sometimes I wonder at how charmed my life can sometimes be... (or at least charmed from my perspective..)
A month ago, I got a message from Wendy, the woman that does the Cleveland Celtic Podcast, asking for some recommendations for a September podcast. A couple of them made it, but the rest of the list hasn't been finalized yet. One will definitely stand out for us Faire Folk...
And now, through a long chain of chance meetings and a bit of fate that I won't go into now, I have a rather interesting weekend ahead of me. Seven Nations is playing in Newport, KY, on Friday night, and then the Cincinnati Irish Fest on Saturday. I'll be crashing with a 7N friend of mine while I'm down there. BUT, there is a more interesting twist to it all...
I got a call yesterday from my friend Denise. I've known her for a few years now. We know each other through the Irish fests and celtic rock shows, and just happen to be fraternity brothers. (co-ed service) Denise is good friends with Seven Nations, and works merch for them a bit. I've subbed in for her at times... And now apparently I'm making the short list.. Denise has to go out of town this weekend, and referred me for a big favor..
On my way to Newport, KY, this Friday, I now get to pick up one of the musicians at the Columbus airport and get him to the show. So, for an hour and a half, I get to hang with the newest member of Seven Nations. (And the only one I haven't really met.) Now, I'm just waiting for his contact and flight info.... They are SOOOOO buying me a couple drinks for this!
I find this intensely amusing.. And feel good that I'm trusted enough to get called for favors.. Perhaps I'll ask if they can get me into the Cinci Irish Fest for free, and call me Roadie-For-A-Day... Btw, I think the Beer Priest might make a showing!! Tee hee....
Ah, this'll be a fun weekend! Seven Nations and Enter The Haggis at the Cinci Irish Fest.. Now, if only some of my other Irish fest friends can make it....

Young Dubliners Sunday, September 21, 2008 Claddagh Columbus, OH
Not sure of further details, except that it's for the Half-Way-To-St-Patty's celebration. I'd guess 9:00 PM. I need to look up the address and phone # still, but if you can come, drop me a line and I'll get you pertinent info when I find it.

WMMS mentioned this show the other night, and hinted that there might be a 'special guest'. Hey, your guess is as good as mine!

Okaaaaay. Someone needs to tell Scene Magizine that they've f**ked up the date. Again. They're awfully good at that since the merger with the Free Times. Further proof that 'under new management' isn't always a good thing!
