I can tell you who isn't signed up according to their Web Sites...Owain and The Rogues. I couldn't log onto Silent Lion's and Michael Manderen is in China...or some place like that...I haven't tried Menagerie's yet...
Come on people...the clock is ticking!!

What's even scarier is all the faire closings I have heard about this off-season. Was just reading about another one last night. Looks like RPFS is in trouble now. www.dailybulletin.com/Stories/0,1413,203~21481~2634917,00.html Ontario closed earlier this year www.rennfest.com/orf/Really makes you wonder.

Okay...correct me if I'm wrong...but I remember Larry saying something about "You don't own or run a Faire to become rich...it's because you love what you do." (paraphrased, of course) But the gist was...you don't own a Faire to become rich.... THEN WHY THE HELL DO YOU OWN/RUN A FAIRE? If you KNOW it's not a money maker (and I think that is a load of BS) then...you run it for the LOVE of Faire...but it seems all the Big Business/Quick money making/Commercialism push behind many of the Faires makes it look like: "I made the money I wanted to out of this, I don't want to put any money into the Faire (upkeep and such)....so....I got my dough...I'm outta' here!" I know Larry is making money off of the Faire...if something goes wrong it's not for want of income...it's for lack of leadership and leading by example from the Management... *steps down off Soapbox* Oh, about RPFS: www.sbsun.com/Stories/0,1413,208~12585~2638508,00.html

Ok, now it has been posted on the GLMF board that the New Riders haven't even been contacted yet? So here it is. January and there are several key groups not signed yet. New Riders Sword School Anamachara The Rogues (nothing on their site yet) Menagerie (nothing on their site yet) Owain is showing GLMF but still ?? on the dates. Johnny never updates his site Bardic Wind (nothing on their site yet) I'm going to do some more asking around and see how far in advance most faires book their performers. Looks like Isaak is back though

GOOD NEWS....... I think they found a jousting troop! Local kindergardners riding saw horses with brooms for lances and garbage can lids for shields! Sorry folks but they need to cut a few corners! OH yes, before I forget.......You can forget the birds of prey show.......they decided to toss out a dead rabbit.... that should attract a few vultures.... Allyn

I thought last year's faire was the worst ever. I wasn't sure if was because I was part of it instead of an oblivious patron or what. It seemed to have lost the magic and the fun. I heard some things while at the Pittsburgh faire (right about the time that the board was taken off line) I also heard some things at the laugh olympics after the faire was over. I can't remember much of it now, but it seems that our worst fears were realized.
I wondered how much worse the faire could get. It seems we are only touching the tip of the iceberg.
Sword school was the only reason I went last year. It just seemed so lame. I know I won't be able to afford the $50 season pass if there is no sword school.
I guess we'll just have to keep having seminars and stuff. I can put a lot of gas in my car to drive to washington, PA for $50.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. At least we have this board so we don't loose touch with people. Trevor - you need to stop being so subtle and have another direct invitation to all the newbies on the GLMF board so that more people will be here when it all hits the fan.

Hmm. I wonder if that means we'll have more people working with cast during rehearsals to prepare us, and if we'll actually have full rehearsals each day rather than half-day rehearsals like most of last season? That was nuts; they almost doubled the amount of cast, and then cut rehearsal time in half. And then wondered why people complained about cast not seeming very prepared or not interacting enough?
But a great huzzopazzah for the return of all those staple acts! Guess Brook and/or Larry haven't lost their marbles after all.
