"Sadly in the Dark" is one place I am not...and that is just fact, no boast, no brag and many people would rather not be here but they are because they do care...
As Sir Trev said...you can either laugh or cry about it...and we choose to laugh....
Am I going to boycott the Faire? No...who would that hurt? The volunteers, Vendors, Acts who are trying to make a living...and who are trying to KEEP THIS FUN! (Not to mention all my friends that I would not see and all the garb I would not wear!!) So, we choose to show our support but if you haven't noticed (and the typed word is so difficult to pick up on) these messages are dripping with sarcasim...
(Hey Trev....think you can find some sort of "Dripping" icon or Font?)

If you believe this, then there never will be any changes.
I know there are more than just one person that got hurt because of recent faire decisions; I have spoken to a couple of them, so I believe that I may place myself in the "informed" catagory.

I'm all ears. What do you suggest that can be done to change things this season? I'm not being a smart ass either. I honestly want to hear your ideas. Because I have wracked my brain and haven't been able to come up with anything. If you aren't comfortable posting it here in public, feel free to PM or email me.

When people are treated well, they return. When treated like sh*t, they don't. That is the root source of a lot of the faire's problems. A change in leadership and attitude is required. Unfortuantely, this is something none of us can do. There is only one person who can, and he chose to keep the current leadership. Unless there is a change on that level, all the hard work and positive attitude will make little difference. This is not pessimism, this is reality.
Under these conditions, you can hardly blame us for getting sarcastic on occasion. It's our way of dealing with the frustration.

I also believe that the old saying "suffering for your art" also can apply here.

To cool some of this "Hate Mail". I will respond to this against my better judgement.
Alot of the people afformentioned are not coming back due to thier own lives taking a different path. The original Cirque guys are directing at another faire. Yes the Washing Well Wenches are coming back. No, Danni will not be returning because of family priorities. Bedevere is in school and had to take another job to further broaden his theatrical horizons (as per his professors). The Burlap Bros were disbanded of their own accord, years ago. Alot of the faces you've been seeing for the past few years are now in college and getting internships and real jobs.
Yes, a few have moved on because of the recent past situations with us (management.) But most of them have thier own lives to lead. One of the things we pride ourselves on, is to see our cast grow into themsleves. We teach them skills in hopes that they will take them when they leave to better thier lives wherever it is they go. It is sad to see our "children" leave us, but then any parent couldn't argue against that.
Everything changes. It has to. That's nature, evolution. Every great empire falls and then rebuilds itself. WE are in a transition period and i sincerely believe we are on the upswing of things. Wait for this summer. See for yourselves and make your judgements then.
Progress is the fruit of success.
