I made it back fine as well..
Still, the most scared today was on I-271 when I saw this SUV start fishtailing a bit ahead of me. I thought it hit the car in the next lane, and saw it swerve onto the berm. No one stopped so it must have been alright.. I was thinking I was going to be a direct witness to a pile-up.
I'm also glad that I was not driving solo on the way home. Whew...

Stuck the ole tape measure into the snow at various spots and we seemed to have between 9 and 11 inch's out here. Bunnie, JR, and I spent most of the morning plowing this place out. Even got JR's truck out of the snow drift that he slid into yesterday. Roads are looking a whole lot better today, we drove into Chardon and you could actually see pavement, something you couldn't see last night. Now I am just waiting for those warm temperatures this weekend to melt this crap! HUZZAH for global warming! HANK.

Well here in Waynesburg we only got just about a trace. The roads were dry even.

Painesville got about 3 or 4 inches, I think. Here in Willoughby Hills, they got a little more. Seems a lot of the places that got hit hardest were those that usually don't get much. Call it meteorlogical karma!

YIKES!!! I just looked out the window and that white crap is falling from the sky again, and at a pretty good rate! It wasn't doing this a half hour or so ago. DAMN, DAMN, DAMN! I was heading out to Orwell this morning to try and help a friend get her car started....which happens to be sitting OUTSIDE unfortunatly! This is going to be so much fun, I just know it. HANK.

Hank, get a grip! YOU LIVE IN THE SNOW BELT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT IS GOING TO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOT ONE DAMNED THING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SO SUCK IT UP AND TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You forget, I spent 90% of my life about 2 miles from where you are, so I KNOW! Why do you think I like it out here so much?!! We actully got hit pretty good for around here, but it's still no where NEAR what I spent most of my life dealing with......and I can't BEGIN to tell you how good that feels!
If it makes you feel better, though, the bitchy neighbor 'forgot' to tell us yesterday that the guy who plows out the parking lot was here, so now both of our cars are plowed in and will have to be dug out, and we are NOT amused!!!! And yes, that WAS on purpose, since I'd just talked to her about an hour before and said to be sure and tell us..................okay, lady, let the games begin! Where's my glitter??!

I saw what some locals around here call a flurry yesterday morning. It lasted about 3 minutes, if that. It's cold as hell though, and way windy. I guess I will get no sympathy from your hardy bunch though. Hope everyone had a great holiday.
They will be tearing down my house on Monday and Tuesday of next week. We hope to be in the new one by mid February. I'll send pix as the tear down happens etc.
Miss you all.
Mitch

Wow Mitch. Why is your house being torn down? This is a result of the transformation. In other words, I'm using the proceeds from Griffins to build a new home complete with a garden that will reflect our times in GLMF. We have saved many mementos from our years there, and will display them proudly. Our home was very old, and not very well built. It was good enough for about 15 of the twenty years we spent in it, but time took it to a place where no home should be. We will have almost twice the space, and Erik has moved into a home of his own some time back. We will have room for a workshop for our costuming and jewelry making. My jewelry workshop was in a separate, unheated building until now. I have all my lapidary and silversmith equipment in storage, just waiting for the new location. We are so very pumped. We will actually have room for friends to visit us here and spend some time with us during our summer days here at the beach. What a treat. It's been over 13 years since I had a summer off. It's all good. Really good. It looks as though tear down will be this coming Wednesday. Rebuild should beging on Thursday. Yeehah!! I'll send pix as thing progress. Mitch
