We just had a dusting here. Melted by afternoon, then we had some sleet for a while.
Earlier last week, when we still had good weather, I got the snow blower out. Fired it up, and ran out the gas that was in the tank. I had to drain the bowl to before I could get it to start. If you remember, last year, I had trouble after filling it. It didn't want to stay running. Figured it was bad gas. Which is why I wanted to run out everything that was in it. I also drained my gas can into the tank on my car. Then filled it with fresh gas at the gas station. Added some stabilizer to the gas can in the process. So, now my gas can and snowblower both have stabilizer in them. Fingers crossed no problems this winter.

So, are you ready for snowmageden? The way they are hyping this projected snow fall on the news is ridiculous.

I guess I shouldn't have said anything. We got hammered. Had a foot of snow to shovel this morning. Got the car started and cleaned off. Back out the driveway to go to work, and got stuck in the road. The wet heavy snow was too deep and the car was bottoming out. While rocking it to get it back to the driveway, the power went out. Finally got partially out of the road (I was completely across it) I fired up the snow blower and cleaned the whole driveway. Then got pulled back into the driveway. Went in the house and had the wife call me off work on the cel phone.
Changed out of my cold wet socks and pants. Pulled a blanket out of the dinning room closet, bundled up on the couch and took a nap. Woke at 9:30. Still no power, and the road still wasn't plowed. Wife had all 4 burners on the stove going to generate some heat. Wife said our son was stuck on I90. Just after he came down the ramp from Conneaut he hit stopped traffic. No where to go. 10:30 the wife called the electric company. They said power would be back around 12:30. I went in the kitchen and fixed a little lunch. Eggs, cheese, and english muffins. (which I toasted using tongs over the burner). We sat in the living room watching the never ending parade of semis on RT 20. Road finally got plowed around 11:30. Still not going out until we have heat for me to warm up when I come back in. Dozed off again just before 12. Woke up at 1:30, power was on, the wife was sleeping. I turned off lights and the burners on the stove. Got boots on and headed out to clean up. Just as I was coming out the door, my son was getting out of his truck. Just got off the interstate. He was not happy. Helped me clear things out, as the snow blower didn't like the slush at the end of the driveway, that was under the snow that I cleared with the blower. When I came back in, the wife said the power still wasn't on at 1 when she dozed off. So, I am betting the TV coming back on is what woke me up.
It's now almost 4 and there is still a never ending line of traffic on 20. So I am betting there are still issues on 90.

WOW! That was certainly a role reversal, usually we get buried and you get nothing. Not this time, you got the SNOWNADO and we got a dusting. Went down to the garage around 5:00AM, nothing, not a flake to be seen. Around 7:30 or so it began to snow, nothing to get really excited about, certainly nothing I was going to fire up the snowblower over. Around 9:00AM or so the sun came out and melted the snow on the asphalt but the grass was still covered, of course I had to brush the snow off the car when I went to middlefield around 10:30 or so to get some parts for the pacifica, but the roads were perfectly clear.
From watching CH 8 news I-90 was a mess, wrecks and spun out cars everywhere. Hope tomorrow goes better for you. I guess Buffalo is such a mess the Browns/Bills game this Sunday has been moved to Detroit.
Take care and be safe. OH, been meaning to tell ya, the driver who put the garbage truck on its side in my driveway a couple weeks ago kept his job. I spoke with him last Friday as I waited for whoever was picking up to arrive so I could instruct him/her on how to exit the yard safely. I'm glad he kept his job. He seems like a decent guy, probably has a family and the holidays are not a good time to be unemployed. And now he knows how to exit here and keep the shiny side up as the saying goes.

Good to hear about the driver. Yeah, there is still a steady parade of trucks through town here. Apparently 90 is closed from Girard PA to RT 11. Main roads here are fine, wet asphalt but clear. Warm weather, wet snow, and some sunshine today made them pretty good. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the side roads. Lots of frozen ruts and narrow lanes. Just nowhere to put the snow really. Supposed to get more, hoping we don't.
The wife and I were supposed to go to a concert in Erie tonight, but she doesn't want to go now. It's no one I really want to see, so I guess that was a waste of money.

Got another 6-8" last night, this morning. Took me about an hour to clear it with the snow blower.

First snowfall where I actually had to deal with it. We got about 5 or 6 inches here also, so I fired up the blower and TRYED to deal with it. It was a wet heavy snow so I spent more time clearing the chute then I did blowing the driveway. Took me a couple of hours just to clear the upper house driveway. Down by the garages the snow was even deeper due to drifting and the blower would not even go thru it. It just pushed it in front of the blower. Since I was getting both cold and nowhere with removal I put the machine away and called it a day. Hope it warms up soon and melts as Bunnie's new car in trapped in the garage. Guess I'll find out just how good the all wheel drive feature really is tomorrow. WINTER SUCKS!!!

Supposed to be warm tomorrow. I had that same problem, where the blower would just push piles of snow instead of blowing them. Mainly because there was a thin layer of wet stuff at the bottom.

So, have you thawed out yet?
Most of our snow is gone now, though I still have some where it was piled up.
Been putting up the xmas decorations today since the weather was so nice.

Few small piles in the shaded areas, but ya, most of the snow has melted. Today (Sunday) it rained most of the day so you timed your Christmas decorating on the right day. I was hoping to dump some oil in the tank but wasn't doing it in the rain, maybe tomorrow.

Well we got a dusting last night. Didn't even need to brush the car off, just let it warm up and melt what little was on the front and back windows. The roads OTOH, were a mess! They did not salt at all last night here in Conneaut. Solid sheet of ice At first I thought maybe it was just the side roads, and when I got to 20 it would be ok. I was wrong. Top speed of 20 mph this morning. And that was right on the edge of losing traction.

You must of got hit with some freezing rain or something. No problem here, I drove into Chardon yesterday morning with no trouble at all. Weird winter, usually we get hit with all the bad crap and you get nothing. This year things seemed to have flip flopped.

It changed from rain to snow. Like I said, basically a heavy dusting. But yeah, all that moisture froze, and that was it.

So Trevor, how bad did you get hit? CH8 news was saying Ashtabula Co north of I-90 was gonna get a good bit of snow. I had to brush off the cars, but the driveway did not have enough on it to bother with. It is cold though, only about 27, 28 degrees. BRRRR!
