I use to do it with my father when he was alive. Just didn't add as much milk and butter and since there was the gravy he would just mix it all together in my case. I'll try to remember other things since this is taking this little blond brain wayyy back. Are you doing the reheating or is he?

Thanks for the link, Sis. I will go check it out.

Have you considered canned potatoes? You can just open a couple of cans, put them in some Tupperware in the fridge, and he can just add them to the stuff he's nuking.
Cooked chicken breasts freeze well, so do cooked hamburgers. Ham freezes really well.
Baked potatoes will also keep well in the fridge for about 5 days, and reheat easily. Actually, homeade or instant mashed potatoes will keep well for about the same length of time. I have yet to ever figure out how to freeze ANY sort of potato.....mashed to some extent, but they thaw watery.
What on earth does your Dad drink, anyway? And how can you live without ever eating a vegetable??!!? ( Veggie freak here! )
Speaking of which, hey, Lady C., some of us LIKE brussels sprouts! B.B. and I for starters......especially since I taught him how to roast 'em. YUMMY!!!!! ;D

Sis not sure about your Dad but mine would like about twice a week a "breakfest" for dinner so I would make up a batch of pancakes and cook some bacon or sausage and make meals of it. May not be healthy but when dealing with stubborn parents all your thinking is getting something they will eat. At least that was where I was at.

Just thought of something sis. Make a meatloaf and insted of adding the crumbs or cornflakes add the mashed potatoes to take their place.

I never thought about adding potatoes into the loaf. That could work.
I really don't care about healthy, obviously he doesn't either :-)
I cooked up a stew from the site you gave me. Just did not add any of the veggies it asked for. I put it in portions and put it in his freezer.
I made chicken soup with skinny noodles and told him to eat around the carrots.

Usually i don't visit this thread, today I guess I was just bored or something as there ain't much new to peruse. KAT. I noticed in reply 283 you stated your dad has never had vegetables or water in his life.
I have two questions for you.
1. How old is your dad? And,
2. How the hell did he manage to get that old with a diet like that? It sucks.
Did his parents (your Grandparents) never give him water when he was a child? Alright, he's Irish, but most parents won't give a new born whiskey or beer to drink when they are still in diapers. Good Lord!
Well, I wish ya luck with this feeding thing, sounds like you're gonna need it. Oh yeah, by the way, if he won't eat vegetables, what the hell does he think potato's are, rocks?
HANK.

Lady C., I can deal with okra if it's deep fried, or in a gumbo, but just plain? Uck. Like you said.....fuzzy! Hank, I asked her that too. Kat...I do the mashed potatoes-in-meatloaf at times, it works great. For a different texture you can add hash browns too. And cooked fish freezes nicely.

Bunnie, here's the recipe from the party that you asked for. The great thing about these little goodies is that you can slap them together in minutes, because the base is refrigerator biscuits! You'll need........
TWO TUBES REFRIGERATOR BISCUITS, ANY BRAND. BUTTERMILK IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR THIS.
1 CUP RAISINS. 1-2 CUPS LIGHTLY CRUSHED NUTS.....ANY TYPE, OR A MIXTURE. 2 STICKS BUTTER, MELTED. 1 TSP. VANILLA. 1-2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR. 1-2 CUPS WHITE SUGAR. AMOUNT OF SUGARS IS ACCORDING TO HOW GOOEY YOU LIKE THEM! THE MORE SUGAR, THE BETTER THEY ARE, IN MY OPINION. ;D HONEY TO DRIZZLE ( JUST HAVE A JAR HANDY ) CINNAMON AND NUTMEG.
MELT BUTTER AND ADD VANILLA. STIR WELL.
PREHEAT OVEN ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS ON BISCUIT TUBE. IN A GOOD SIZED BAKING DISH SPREAD ABOUT 1/4 OF THE BUTTER. PLACE BISCUITS IN PAN AS YOU WOULD TO BAKE THEM NORMALLY.
COAT TOPS OF BUSCUITS GENEROUSLY WITH BUTTER, LETTING PLENTY RUN DOWN IN BETWEEN. DRIZZLE WITH HONEY.
SPRINKLE GENEROUSLY WITH BROWN SUGAR, THEN WHITE, THEN A HEARTY AMOUNT OF THE CINNAMON AND NUTMEG.
ADD NUTS AND RAISINS, SPRINKLE WITH A BIT MORE BROWN SUGAR, DRIZZLE WITH REMAINING BUTTER ( YOU SHOULD HAVE ABOUT 1/4 CUP LEFT ) AND DRIZZLE THE WHOLE THING GENEROUSLY WITH MORE HONEY.
BAKE ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS ON TUBE, OR UNTIL THE BUTTER AND SUGAR MIXTURE IN THE CORNERS IS BUBBLING. BE SURE TO LET COOL SOME BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN.
ENJOY!
