Yes, HUZZAH to the marketing manager for getting spots on WDOK 102.1. That's probably the biggest drive-time show, and the one I listen to, and I was shouting HUZZAH when I heard it!

I live in Cuyahoga County, so there are no billboards and it's not in our papers. So, Tuesday... I pick up a Scene magazine at a CD store and am reading while eating a sandwich. About ten pages in I see and ad. I got so excited, I almost choked on my sandwich.

I saw on the front page of todays (8-9-07) News-Herald that in Fridays paper they will have a write up about the joust. So those of you who get the N.H. you might want to check it out. HANK.

Yeah...FINALLY something out this way (Cleveland)! I'm a faithful reader of both Scene and Free Times, and other years they've both had ads in at least sporadically for the entire run. THIS year??! ONE ad, for final weeknd! WHAT are the people in the office THINKING??!!!

They need to do more advertising in affluent areas, such as the west and south sides of Cleveland. People with money are more likely to spend it than people who don't.

There was an article is this weeks Review about the GLMF which is fine but it should have been in there about ... Oh ... 5 weeks ago.
We should have poster/flyers in every major grocery store, gaming shop, and university from Cleveland to Akron to Youngstown before the faire starts. We have several people on here who have volunteered to post them, but you shouldn't have to make your own with your own ink.

Well, take it up with Larry. The printing is something handled by the office, not the ED, or the CC.
Now, as for the newspapers and such. Can't really control when they decide they want to run a story on something. They should have had all the info on media day (before opening).

Hey bro. you're married to a celebrity!! Can I get an autographed 8x10 glossy? Actually Trevor, the printing is something MISHANDLED by the office, as they so aptly proved this year. And while you are correct in that GLMF has NO control over when the news media decides to do something, I would have to wonder why they even bother with a "Media Day" if you don't get the publicity you seek till after the even is (almost) over. HANK.

Roxanne, grocery stores...those stands with homes/cars etc..welll you have to get permission to use those racks and post anything other then what is there..I checked with the front offices at Giant Eagle..
I dropped a few here and there, Marcs etc,,other public area racks that would not get thrown out..
I agree with Kay, Cleveland area should have more advertising..2 weeks ago I saw a former Flight Attendant that I know that was there with her family..other then that no one from this area drives there..I put flyers all around the airport.Gas prices have stopped alot this year..

Doesn't anyone have contact info for the person in charge of vendors. It would be really nice if we could get the wooden mug or a pewter company in the shire. Fellowship foundry pewter was always at the Pittsburg Ren Faire - I wonder if we could get them to come to ours. We need to work on getting a better variety of wares. Does anyone know if the vendors had a successful run? I know the weather was absolutely phenomenal this year.
