GLMF Audition Announcement:
Ever considered being a part of our village? Auditions are being held for our in house cast. Is it as fun as it seems? YES!! The reason we have such a large return rate of performers is the fun we all have in the development of our show. We are looking for all ages from 15years and up. Younger will be considered depending on how much acting the parents want to do. Entertainment Director, John ‘Hack’ Davis, uses fun and educational training techniques to create an amazing experience that you will want to repeat year after year. You will learn Improvisation, Dialects, Character Development, Scene Developmnent, and Movement. We’ll see you at one of the auditions.
March 17&18 will be held at Weathervane Playhouse in Akron.
These dates will be held at GLMF faire site in our feast hall unless otherwise advised:
Saturdays: March, 24, 31, 2007; 10am - 3pm
Sundays: March, 25, April 1, 2007; 10am - 4pm
Fight Auditions - Saturdays (as above), 3pm - 5pm
GLMF will soon be weighing anchor!
GLMF and the Majestic Yacht (www.aqualimo.com) are teaming up to create a seagoing experience. GLMF will be producing Pirate cruises starting in May on a weekly basis. Also in the works is Murder Mystery tours and a GLMF cruise Keep an eye on the GLMF website (www.medievalfaire.com) for more information.
Shakespeare Contest Judge announced:
English-Speaking Union Shakespeare Competition, has announced that one of the judges will be the Entertainment Director of the Great Lakes Medieval faire, John Davis. If you are interested in attending, contact the Cleveland Playhouse. Semi-finals on Saturday, February 24, from 8:30-11 AM.
Stage Combat Class In Akron
John “Hack” Davis Entertainment Director of the Great Lakes Medieval faire and two thirds of the comedy sword-fighting duo Hack and Slash will be teaching a ten week course in Stage Combat called, ”From Fisticuffs to Pointy Things” at Weathervane Community Playhouse in Akron, starting March 2 for ten consecutive Friday nights. Cost is only $250! Sign up today at: 330/836-2323. Good for ages 15 and up. Wear lose clothing (sweats preferred) and Athletic shoes.
Stage Combat Master Class at Oberlin College.
Friday March 9th, John “Hack” Davis will be teaching a Master Class in Stage Combat at Oberlin College. Open to Students only. Contact Oberlin for more details
Romeo and Juliet
Weathervane Playhouse Youth Program in Akron presents Romeo and Juliet. All fight choreography directed by John ‘Hack’ Davis. “ the Actors far exceeded my expectations, I think I may be training my future replacements for Hack and Slash” The Weathervane Playhouse has been a wonderful support for GLMF even allowing us to hold auditions in their space.
