Thought I would make a general post about a few things I have found out over the past weeks, but may have forgotten to mention on here.
First of all, we will have glass-blowing in the shire again
So that area shouldn't be a big dead-zone again.
I have talked to the new craft coordinator (yes we have a new one of those as well. Seems he was hired the same day John was hired. Nothing against the old CC, she just could do the job this season because of other commitments)
Lots of vendors from last season will be back in our fair shire again. And there are plenty of others trying to get in too!
He is sorting through all the applications and figuring out which ones we can bring in.
It's not a question of space, but rather making sure there aren't too many people all selling the same thing. If we already have a bunch of people selling an item, it doesn't make sense to bring in even more people selling the same items. The market will only bear so much.
The site is looking great.
Lots of new paint jobs on stages and things.
New flags, banners, and signs.
New looks to old stages.
Fairyland looks even better than last year. Chessboard looks SWEET! And a few other places you won't even recognize
I was surprised to hear the location of some of the acts.
Seems they really are going to be spreading things out. That way patrons will actually be going all around the shire to see things. Trying to get more traffic at the far ends.
I also hear that John has got the schuling of the shows so that if flows very nicely. This is like second, third, or fourth hand info, so I don't know any specifics. Just know that if it is half as good as I have heard, it should be a great improvement.
I have heard from various people who have seen pages of the new revamped website, that when it is done, it should be great!
So that is progressing nicely.
Hopefully the promo at the mall goes well, and helps pull in some more people who don't even know what a medieval faire is.
Everything going on, just makes me get very excited about this season, and the possibilities for next season.
