The joust this year was brought in at the last minute. Larry barely paid them, and wouldn't work with them... i saw Emomojo in michigan and they were AWESOME!!!! They had a 4 horse show and the guys on the troop are AMAZING people. The last few troops they had have all been dicks. I talked with Eric and rob and troy and kate and they are probably the nicest people you can meet.

They were really nice. I loved them. Especially during the very last joust, when during teh kissing contest, we sent David(Sir Tristan) out there instead of one of us ladies. ^.^ Troy was such a good sport for not knowing that was going to happen hehe.

thank you "guest" i know i've talked to several of you on the joust topic (seeing how i've worked with the troupes). because of the spacing of our list diff troupes have had to adjust their show accordingly. not to mention this past season there were some minor injuries to the knights because its dangerous! so yes i agree it may not have been the best at times but we did everything in our power to give a GREAT show. if you dont like it then you pick a lance, ride a horse in armor and then we'll talk had to vent that i'm very protective of my sheep.. i mean knights

Nanny. I have to ask, what do you mean by "Because of the spacing of our list?" I can understand having to adjust your show to accommodate different size jousting fields, but when I think of a "list" I think of what I take to the grocery store.
I thought the joust this past year was pretty good. Maybe not the best I've seen, but certainly not the worst. The object of the exercise is to put on an entertaining show and not kill yourself in the process. And like you said, have someone ride at you on horseback and poke you in the chest with a big long stick and then tell me how easy you think this is.

Hank, a 'list' is the medieval term for the the space, enclosure, etc. where the knights joust with one another. Specifically, the roped off enclosure on the joust field where the fighting actully takes place.
And if you find that word strange, the generic term for jousting and other martial types of games was 'hastiludes'!

I thought the Joust this year was good. I thought they were much more friendiler than the group that did it the year before. Is our joust field small compared to other faires? I salute all those involved in presenting the Joust. It is a dangerous sport. Sir Michael

I like our joust field. At O-Ren it was a bit hard to see becuase it was all level. I like how our seats are on a hill. You can actually see the joust.

I dont suppose the Jail is coming back this year is it? Doubtfull, since it was torn down a couple of seasons ago. Part of it is still helping hold up the excalibur stage.
