Just gotta say I was surprised how well the Browns did last night considering most of the team was third stringers and we only lost by two points. Course I did predict we had a chance to win this one and now we have to face the PACKERS (11 to 3) I think that will be a massacre, so no post season this year. Nothing new there.
Any foot ball fans who read this maybe you can explain to me just what constitutes a "touchdown" in the NFL? IN last nights game one of a Browns caught the ball in the end zone but because one heel did not touch the ground it was ruled null and void. Yet the week before in what I believe was the Bengals, 49ers game one the the players caught the ball NEAR the end zone extended his arm and ball which passed OVER the goal line even though the rest of his body landed on the ground OUT OF BOUNDS they declared that a touchdown. REALLY!?!? I'm thinking the NFL is about as "real" as the WWE. SO whatever team bribes the officials with the most money gets the "good" calls.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: I'm old enough to remember when you had the ROSE BOWL,ORANGE BOWL, and the COTTEN BOWL and that was about it. Now it seems there are about a zillion bowl game so EVERY college no matter what their win/lost record is will play in a bowl game of some sort. My guess is they are just not selling enough beer and pick-up trucks so they needed to do something to increase the number of commercials shown.
HANK.
