I'm glad to see they are updating the web site so much. But I do have to admit I find it funny that even though they really seem to not like John anymore and want everyone to know that they think he's disrespected the faire so much, that they are still advertising on the home page that Hack and Slash are back. And I do not mean the entertainers page that lists last years acts, I mean the very first page which has their picture and says that they are back. I guess they'll tolerate John's image if it will help make them money.

I am sure it is just a matter of they haven't thought about changing that page yet. So far, the only pages changed since last year are the ones with the faire dates, and now the themed weekends.

No, the home page has been updated a few times to advertise special deals for advanced ticket sales. They had a deal for Christmas, Valentines and now St. Patrick's day. I wish I hadn't waited to buy mine though, I heard Christmas was buy one get one because that would have saved more money than the 5 food dollars.

Can't wait!
I just wish they would do away with Roman Holiday....but that's just me.
And also....referring to pictures of past performers, they are property of GLMF, so they can use them all they want. Some sites use old pictures for marketing purposes all the time. It may seem misleading, but as long as they are not on the entertainment list, they are not doing any false advertisement.

I agree I've never thought Roman holiday fits the rest of the GLMF faire.

I agree I've never thought Roman holiday fits the rest of the GLMF faire. Yeah but Larry likes it, so ... He is the boss after all. And I have to admit that a lot of the casual faire-goers seem to like it. It is a concept they can grasp. And anyone can throw together a toga to get into the spirit of things.

July 5-6 - A Mid-Summer Knight's Dream: Her Majesty Princess' Sweet 16th Birthday Bash
I'm waiting to see who comes up with the best joke. Oh wait, the theme says it all.

Sadly it seems there is no Arabian Knights weekend this year.
I'd rather see that than Roman Holiday!

Dave, I SO love the way your mind works.....mainly because it's the same way mine does! ;D Am I sensing a script for one of Hank's favorite kind of movies here?! 'Cause you KNOW it'd sell! ;D I kind of like that Medieval Fantasy, Men of Steel thing myself.........................

Looks like Highland weekend and Celtic Weekend were merged, makes sense.
I am with Nyneve, would have preferred Arabian Nights to Roman Holiday.

I never thought Roman Holiday quite fit in, but it is an undeniable crowd pleaser and loads of fun. So I'm glad they keep it around.
I'm also glad they merged Highland and Celtic weekends as well, I always thought that would be a better usage of time and talent.
I am also very disappointed by the lack of Arabian (K)nights weekend.
Although it seems that it's spot has been taken by this new "birthday bash" weekend, which I'm slightly confused about, but sounds as though it could be a great idea. Especially for opening weekend.

Now that I think about it, this mention of a "princess" leaves me to wonder: Are we not doing Robin Hood again this season? I can't recall ever having a princess for the King Arthur theme either.......
Is there going to be an entirely new theme this yr??

If "Roman Holiday" seems to be something the "masses" can understand then I sadly fear we are bowing to the "lowest common denominator" ie. Anyone can throw on a sheet and do John Belushi impressions....surprised they don't have a "Jell-O Eating Contest". *sigh*
"Arabian Knights" would have been more desirable, I agree!
As to "Her Majesty Princess' Sweet 16th Birthday Bash."......I'm getting visions of "Enchanted" now running through my head...wonder if they've managed to get the birds, raccoons, deer and such wildlife to commit to practicing songs a la Disney...?
