GLMF got a nice little write-up in Scene Magizine.....even if they did refer to our resident crazy ladies as the WISHING Well Wenches! Nice picture of Ima Nutt and Blockhead.

Here's a linky.... www.clevescene.com/2008-07-02/calendar/it-s-faire-to-say/The article: It's Faire to Say Travel in a time machine to a fairy-tale village of lords, ladies, and clueless pooches. By Marge Perko Published on July 02, 2008 Laura Lagasse wants you to bite into her hot buns. Seriously. And you'll find her portraying Hilde the German baker at the 16th annual Great Lakes Medieval Faire in Rock Creek. Throughout six straight weekends, a part of the Ashtabula County town morphs into the fictional 13th-century village of Avaloch, where spectators can bump into jousting knights, fairy storytellers, marauding pirates, and costumed crafters. "You don't have to travel far to go back in time. We have the über-patrons, who make sure their costumes are period-correct down to the last stitch. And there are those who have no idea what to expect," says Lagasse. "Just a warning: I wandered in one weekend and have been hooked since." Each weekend will showcase a fantasy-related theme, from imaginary Scottish Highland games to a pirate invasion. This weekend, ladies can dress in gowns and tiaras for a Sweet-16 Princess Birthday Bash. And the crowds will swell with roaming entertainers like Axel the Sot, the Wishing Well Wenches, and Ima Nut, with her highly untrained dog, Blockhead. "You won't find any gas pumps or politicians in Avaloch," says Lagasse. Just wenches, warlocks, and lots of food." The faire runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, through Sunday, August 5, at 3033 State Route 543 in Rock Creek. Admission is $5.95 to $15.95. Call 440-474-4280 or visit www.medievalfaire.com. Saturdays, Sundays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Starts: July 5. Continues through Aug. 5, 2008

The July-August issue of The Cleveland Canine had a nice little article on page 5 about the Faire and how its so dog friendly. That was all I needed to convince the wife that we should bring the pups! Whats more fun that puppies? Puppies @ the Faire!

OK PEOPLE, THIS STORY IS FOR REAL! Not one of my flights of fantasy. Channel 8 TV from Cleveland was out at the GLMF today taking pictures which will air sometime around August 6th.
You may get to see Bunnie on the TV as she went out there in garb. Don't look for me as I was working. She was the only patron, hey, she's unemployed, so she has a lot of free time!
A lot of the cast was there as well as a number of vendors. Bunnie said they toured the whole place shooting video, but you know how that goes, it will probably be edited down to 10 nano seconds of air time.
That is pretty much all I know at this time. As more details become available I will let you know.
HANK.

Oh yeah, thought I should mention that Ganon College radio keeps mention GLMF when talking about their events calendar. I've checked their calendar and have seen no mention of GLMF on it, but it is still mentioned in the radio commercials.

Hank, I heard that from a very reliable source over the weekend. Kenny Crumpton was going there on his own time. I kept watching all morn, something I normally do not do in the am. He was in Grafton at a dock, thinking there was no way he would get to Geneva from Grafton in an hour. So on that note, I'll keep my peepers open, Ill be working that day, if I see it I see it..if not some has to feed the pooch.

Trevor. I hear a plug for GLMF quite a lot on WBBG, 106.1 out of Youngstown. They also have a billboard in Huntsburg (where the Hell is that ) on Route 528. I see it everyday coming home from work. Lady C. I'm not sure just who the heck Kenny Crumpton is, some TV personality I would assume, but they could get him from Grafton ( Lorain Co.) to GLMF in a short time via their traffic copter, most TV stations seem to have one these days. Or he could just go out there some other time and they could splice together footage of him standing at the entrance with the footage they shot yesterday. The magic of Special Effects. We will just have to wait and see I guess. HANK.

I saw an actual TV commercial on channel 8 yesterday. I was stunned. It was on just as the news ended. Made my day.

higgins, I damn near died the first time I saw them. this is NOT a one shot commercial -It appears only ch 8 has the spots. They run at different hours, this is a first to have that quantity. Great Minds think alike eh?
