I feel very sorry for those involved in the faire. And this forum proves that you cannot make all people happy all of the time. Most people are kind, and happy to see the faire begin, and then others are never happy with much of anything. I look forward to this faire yearly for the past 4 years.
I understand all people need to have a place to vent, but reading a lot of negativity really brings me down. The faire for me is a fun a weekend treat.

I understand all people need to have a place to vent, but reading a lot of negativity really brings me down. The faire for me is a fun a weekend treat. This is nothing. Negative was about 3 years ago. That was when there were a lot of negative things being said all the time. Things are much more upbeat now. As to negative comments, they only have as much power as you give them. If you don't let them effect you or color your perspective, then they have no power at all. Geck. If you really want to be an optomist, you can even spin the negative comments as a good thing. Keeps people from getting their hopes up too high, so they are that much more amazed when the get back to the shire. Instead of having too high of expectations and being somewhat disapointed when returning.

GLMF should be renamed to Great Lakes Medieval Amusement Park. I saw the Pirate ship....saw the log cars.... The mad carnie has struck again.... It is so sad... LOL! Now all I can hear is the song from "Shrek".... Welcome to Duloc, such a perfect town Here we have some rules, let us lay them down Don’t make waves, stay in line And we’ll get along fine Duloc is a perfect place Keep your feet off the grass Shine your shoes, wipe your…face Duloc is, Duloc is Duloc is a perfect place Hey...we all know that most of us don't come for what Larry bought...I'm sure the 45+ RF-ers that will converge on Avaloch in a few short days could give a fetid pair of Dingo's kidney's what was or wasn't purchased...they are coming for fellowship and because upon visiting other Shires many of us have talked the Faire "up"...so no wagging fingers at us about what a bunch of "downers" WE are... *walks away humming the DuLoc song* Catchy lil' tune, that....

Piper's is working as hard as they can to make them as Medieval as they can possibly look in the short time that they have left, so I wouldn't worry to much.

This is looking to be the best year yet; the cast is pumped and the grounds are looking great, Pipers pirates have done a wonderful job in the new world and, there is even a new pub!
