On the serious side Sir Trevor is right,we need to promote the faire to increase new patrons to become playtrons and enjoy the faire like we do.

Well, if it makes anyone feel better, promo's started today -- and this weekend is dress rehersal, and the cast (which I'm hearing is awesome, by the way...), is going to Geneva on the Lake to be in the parade.
And, I want to defend Hankie Poo -- (I don't want to start a whole thread of trouble and such)....BUT, if anyone had actually taken the time to read the article, they would have read the following:
"Rickard said he made, “a significant investment” in decor items at the Geauga Lake auction last week, though he didn’t purchase any rides."

Doesn't anyone remember the quote "Don't believe everything you read?" Dang...
By the way... If you do believe everything you read then I have some swamp land in Florida to sell you.... Cheap!

"You have to realize there are a lot more people reading what is written here, than just the regulars."
Hi Everyone, I am one of those people that read what is written here without participating but I felt I had to comment on this. I have been to the faire every year that it has been open. I dress up but I don't interact much (cant get that damn accent down).
My political statement is:
I can see both sides of this issue. I completely understood it was a joke without knowing the participants (besides seeing you at that faire). On the flip side, there are people that lack the common sense to read an entire article to make sure something so fantastical as a "Roller Coaster" is true. Unfortunately we live in a sound-bite world where facts are irrelevant and people believe what they want to believe.

I have to agree 100%, Marzeke. MY opinion being, if in fact you lack the common sense to actually read the entire thing before reacting, well then, you get what you deserve!

I think the "knee jerk reaction" was more "I wouldn't put it past him if...." (for those who entertained the thought that it was a legit post....)
I mean...we DID have a Tiki Bar and Blender drinks one year folks....remember?

Oh believe me. If you have ever tried to sell stuff on ebay, you would know full well how true that is. Or to bring it closer to faire. Remember Sarah tellin us about people actually asking if the horses used in the joust were real, or were they robots.
Which is why it is imperitive to keep things truthful and honest here. Sure some speculation on motives, or persistent rumors are expected. But outright lies and falsehoods are just not helpful or wanted.
Now then. Any word on what exactly Larry got? The article mentions more stuff for the kids. Any details? If anyone noticed, I have set up a new area on my site to highlight more of the stuff for the kids. Games, rides, stuff like that. I noticed it was something I hadn't covered before, and thought it would be a good thing to kind of key on this season.

Ya know, maybe we just aren't as, oh, domesticated as the rest of you, but this whole thing started out as a silly little harmless joke, and NOT as an attempt to pander "outright lies and falsehoods." No harm was meant, ever, and I'd have thought that was obvious. Lighten up, for god's sakes. I REALLY do not appreciate being called a liar!

Seriously...
I'm wondering what the four log "toboggans" from the log ride were doing there.. (In the field to the right, before you turn to go the main parking area) Didn't see a ride, just the log "toboggans".
NO CLUE what they are for, since the ride wasn't with them. I find it hard to think that they'd go out into the pond... But I think it'd be funny to put one in the mud pit!
I'm impressed that he got the fountain. That'll be nice to see next year!!
