Just got an email from the faire. Themed weekends are posted, and it looks like they are shaking things up a bit this year. www.medievalfaire.com/weekends.htmBut I think this is the big headline for a lot of people "Beer, wine, and ale will once more be offered at our fine pubs! (It seems a few of you missed it over the last few years.) We've refreshments both hard and soft; be sure to try a wide sample. "

With the passing Brett, our new Entertainment Director is Patrick Johnson. He will be up some time in February.

He also is the current owner of Bill's old booth. Selling walking sticks. Pat has done a lot down at O-Renn and other places. He's good people. I feel with Pat on board, I am not worried about the preparation portions of the new season.

I feel with Pat on board, I am not worried about the preparation portions of the new season. That's what Britny said this weekend too. She was up for my wife's birthday, and we were talking about it. When she found out who the new ED was she was really happy. Said he should do great.

Well met means what it implies. It is good to meet you. As opposed to "Ill Met" where the individual tries to rob or stab you.
I know I saw Pat roaming quite a bit by the end of last season and you could tell he was making mental notes and suggestions lists for things that could be easily improved on. I am excited to see what he does.
Plus Gemma said he was already in contact with the merfolk and was on board with helping them get everything they really need to make life work for them (assigned tenders, shade etc.).

That would be great if we can get the merfolk squared away. They are a huge draw for the little ones, and the way they have been neglected the last couple seasons wasn't good.
I think I heard that he was going to be up on site fairly early too. Like March or April if I remember correctly. So that bodes well too. Not sure where I heard/read that. Just kind of stuck in my head though.

Seems the beer issue is still up in the air. Cindy said on FB that they are still waiting on state approval of their licenses.
