Amazingly well for some people and disappointingly for others I would venture.
Had dinner with Eben, Danny, Doug and the rest of the core during the process and they were not talking about it.

That is probably best. No need to let gossip out about the auditions. I am sure Eben will make an announcement when they have the full roster settled.

He did give me an idea about the storyline. I will not be sharing that. But it involves princesses and princes and romancey stuff.

I hope they do good queen / bad queen again. That was fun last year.

I shared a thought on the topic with an old cast member and heard the response, "Whatever happened to doing King Arthur? People know that, it's a good plot to run with and easy to follow."
I gotta say I do and don't agree. I like the concept of grabbing a classic story like Arthur, Robin Hood or even Ivanhoe. They all have nice big casts to draw on and ways to incorporate the cast in doing pretty much the same show with a few twists for the story. But I also know that gets stale for the returning cast to repeat over and over as well as the returning regular audiences (be it us hardcore everyday types or the annual civilians)
But I would think there was a way to use the classic stories as a base to tell whatever storyline you want to run with. You can play Arthur as a quest for the grail, the war with Mordred, romance triangle with Guinevere and Lancelot, or even as a magical thing around Merlin and the lady of the lake. Ivanhoe had enough subplots to choke a horse and Robin has been re-imagined on film in a dozen directions.
But if they are going with a complete original plot they had best make sure somebody has a program to identify the players.
