I recently wrote a poem for Owain called, 'The Bard's Song.' Then I took a few photos and created a vid with him singing, 'La Prima Vez.' After he was done singing I read the poem I wrote for him in the vid. I hope it is a fitting tribute to Owain.
Additionally, for those who want it, here is the poem in plain text.
The Bard's SongI am but a traveler here to tell a tale
of the man, nay the much lauded Bard, Owain Phyfe
On the sunrise road I came on a shady swale.
T'was there a man singing of love for his good-wife.
Other wayfarers had paused to heed the dawn song.
I too took my ease with them among the lilies.
With a wink and a smile he welcomed the small throng,
for he knew his tunes were a pleasant achilles.
He stopped for a moment to sate his well earned thirst
before offering a toast of, “Walla Walla.”
His second song was more spirited than his first,
a drinking song apt to our small festive gala.
His soul was a river with no set boundaries
with crisp pure sounds from every land in his Heart-song.
His poetry was masterfully made to please
and it seemed as if he could not lay a note wrong.
When the weave of music came to it's glorious end
I found the road ahead did not seem quite as long,
for though I know not where destinies path might wend
my memory will still delight in that Bard's song.
