I do believe there was a brief comment on that final weekend as we were gate bound (more or less). I seem to recall there being mention of the same location having been scheduled for the first weekend date in october. But I could be wrong.

Ok. Started a new thread for this year's party. And Hank. This will be the 7th year for the party And I hear you about trying to get stuff done. Between the overly hot weather this summer, and my FIL staying with us, I got behind on some stuff I wanted to get done this year. So now, I am scrambling to make sure all are done by Halloween. Biggest problem is waiting to have funds for some of it. I need to replace 6 exterior window sills. My back door. And another 400 sq ft of shingles on the roof. (that is only part of the roof, the part that has to be done before winter this year)

Oh yea.. And to boot , since when does the city inspector NEED to look at the tank after it's been installed, and getting a permit... Just another money making issue for the city and job security for someone else. A fireman friend of ours will do it...in that case city need not know, if an hvac guy does it then permit needed bs.

Why would you have a heating, air conditioning guy install a hot water heater? Wouldn't that be a job for a plumber? I mean ya don't go to a carpenter to get your car repaired. Is hubby at all handy with tools? I installed our new water heater myself back in the Spring. It ain't no big deal. Home Depot, or Lowes has all these free pamplets explaining everything for the do it yourselfer. If you can read, and follow instructions, it's pretty easy.

Hank, got the new tank yesterday.. Plumber installed...Had to replace 2 valves, since they were corroding.
And Home Depot carries GE which I REFUSE to buy..their board of directors mentioned to our BOD years ago, that the employees SHOULD take all sorts of pay/benefits cuts,,
I say the hell with Jeff Immelt.. Obama's buddy..
Now that tank was a bear to haul up the steps..2 guys and a dolly..alot of sediment in the bottom..and...Mr was not home..so could not wait for him.
Price not bad..6 yr warranty...installed in 1 hr..

Important tip (since we are off topic anyhow) for those installing their own electric water heaters. Make absolutely sure the tank is completely full before you turn the breaker on for the heating element. If water does not cover that element, it will burn itself off (yes, it will actually heat enough to melt) and you will now have a broken new heater. I learned this one the hard way, trusting a friend who did stuff for people.
