14 days 15 hours and fifty two minutes till opening gate and I for one am excited to return to the streets of Avaloch. My Lady has conscripted my labor (and a fair deal of her own as well) to produce a few small wardrobe items and accesories for a new year. We have missed the fine fellowship and good companions and the laughter that is shared. So where is the enthusiasm? Who is planning to tailgate opening day and when will you show up? What are you looking forward to this year most? I have not seen cast post here with a teasing peek at whats in store. No one has hinted at improvements made to the grounds. I know that there are many who do not post regularly here but do check in often for a tease at what's to come. So who else is itching to start this year?

Good Den Sir Higgins and Lady Wife, I was out helping on site today. It is coming along nicely. The Faire work crew was very busy as well as the front office. They could still use some help getting ready. (I don't know the 2 young women that were cooking, but, it smelled delicious.)
The cast has quite a few new tid- bits happening. With 80+ cast members, imagine what they have in store for all of us. They have been working so hard. Even on the weekday evenings. They sound very good. The dances look wonderful. New story. New costumes. 2 fights! 2 plays in Fairy Forest. From what I have seen so far, oh, I can not wait.
I will be on site tomorrow. Not sure about Sunday. This will be my last weekend to help. Can not wait for opening day and can not wait to see you both again.

Greetings All, I was at our shire yet today and with the assistance of the Lady Kara was able to obtain my first season pass. From the limited time I had, the shire is looking very fine. There was still a huge cloud of dust from all the work being done. I think King Richard will be very pleased to be home. I plan on being at opening weekend, and will be dressing in the parking lot with Princess Emma on Saturday morning about 9:00am. I will be looking for you Lord and Lady Higgins. Sir Michael of Mentor & Princess Emma P.S. In my other life, my HAM radio club is helping to organize the Mardi Graw parade on July 1st in Fairport. Kara told me today the cast of GLMF will be in the parade again this year. It's a great parade and starts about 630/700pm on Thursday July 1st in Fairport. Last year they were most wounderful and very impressive.

Eager for Circa Paleo, for Dueling Fools, for all the other guests that please us so. Who shall say me otherwise???
[shouts from the distance . . . . "otherwise"!] with a smile and nod to Hack and Slash.

Ok, I'm confused. The GLMF website home page says hours are 11 am - 7 pm. Wasn't opening time 10 am in the past? Under General Info, it still references an Opening Gate Ceremony at 9:45 am.
Can anyone clear this up for me?
Thanks. Michelle

Just checked the website and it does say opening gates at 11:00am. However, the fliers still say 10:00am. What's up with the no bar rule? Was there some sort of regulation pushed through over the winter?

The Ladies Leslie and Brittney would love to join the tailgate shenanigans on opening day! As far as arrival time about 10:00 to 10:30 is probably doable. If anyone else was planning on it please post what time you might be arriving as well and we can get a fun little group together. I, for one, am excited that we have Owain for a whole season and that Circa Paleo is back. And even though the faire will be dry I am glad that we will not be! :-D If anyone wants to play dueling flasks please do seek us out. Whip yours out...we'll see whose is bigger... Muah!

Our weather report in Cleveland says we are to have "bad" thunderstorms on Friday. Saturday and Sunday SHOULD be in the mid 80's. Sooo, opening weekend will be muddy, but should dry out in the heat.
