Hello Everyone, getting ready for an awesome year, this year the fair grounds did well, not alot of damage, not alot of trees down, clean up should be fairly simple. Which means we can spend more time on beautifying our beloved village. Everyone did an outstanding job last year and it has been appreciated by Larry and Cindy more than you can imagine. As some of you already know from conversations with them they wish to express gratitude to each of you but, sometimes don't have the time to do it in there everyday schedule, fair set up is very demanding and all of you contribute to making it much easier,Thank YOU. Due to the Easter holidays we will be starting on APRIL 10th this season. Hope to see you then, huzzah. Brett Hall

Hey Brett, So far I see no problem with me being there on the tenth. Is there anything we need to bring besides gloves, hammer and screw drivers?

That weekend is the same as the Choppers Hot Rod show, at which I will be in attendance on Sat. the 10th. However I should be out at GLMF on that Sunday, weather permitting of course. You know what April can be like in this neck of the woods at this time of the year.

Hey Brett, It looks like I will not make it the first weekend. Mike scheduled our taxes for Saturday and his family arrives the Friday before. Sorry. I should be up the following weekend. Sorry, Kat

I can probably help out the first two weekends in May before I start rehearsals. I'll attempt to drag Doug with me.

Since the weather is suppose to be somewhat crappy this weekend I will be going out to Faire today to dismantle the gazebo. The weight of all the snow we had this Winter bent it up worse than the tree that fell on it two years ago, So my plan is to take it apart, bring it home and try and straighten all the bent up sheet metal, than at a later time re-assemble it back on site.
Another fun project is going to be repairing a bunch of the benches that the audience sits on at the shows. They stack them one on top of the other in the off season and a big tree fell upon one of the stacks. Sort of like a giant Karate chop it just busted em all to Hell.

Oh man.
By gazebo, I take it you mean the one across from the feast hall, where the musicians play in the morning.

That's the one. I remember what a nice job Hank did fixing it last time.

I MAY come out for a couple of hours on Saturday. Not too sure since I have a wedding at 4:00. Sunday I will be at Ashland all day. It is Robinson's final weeks before graduation, and on Sunday are all the Senior awards. (My baby is a college graduate:-) .... now only one more to graduate from college, yay.)

Yeah Trevor, Higgins is correct, that is the one. Fixing it this time is going to be loads of fun. When the tree fell on it it only bent up one of the "rafters" ( the pieces that hold up the roof) so I was able to take a good one and just rework the bent one to match the contour. This time around the snow bent all six of them so now I have to try and straighten them all to the same configuration with no pattern to go by so the thing looks somewhat symmetrical when it is all back together.
They probably should build a sturdy wooden one, That sheet metal is just too flimsy to support a ton of snow like we got this past winter.
