Has anyone heard anything new about what they are cooking up to stop the faire this year?

No idea. I know I am still hammering away at the county comissioners. They are trying to pass a sales tax increase in the county. And in a few letters, and phone messages (since they never answered the phone), I told them there is no way I can support the tax increase when they throw away taxpayer money sending sheriffs deputies to the faire to harrass vendors for no good reason.

I was watching the news friday nite after all that "wonderful" snow came down and it was announced that Ashtabula county couldn't afford to have snow removal on sat and sunday cause of their budget shortfall......

That was Ashtabula city, not the county. Ashtabula city has big budget problems, so the public works department isn't allowed overtime. Which means that the plows stopped at 3 PM on Friday, and wouldn't resume plowing again until 11 PM Sunday night.

A whole year has passed by (can you believe it??!) I wonder if it would behoove us to remind the news stations what bunk the Trustee's were cooking up last year and with the advent of the 2010 Faire Season on the horizon, what more the Trustee's may plan to do and how much money they plan on spending in their attempt to squelch the Faire...If it made news last August, it should still be news worthy now...

An excellent idea Capt'n! I for one suspect they will continue thier antics, after all they suffered very little fallout over last years bungle. My hope is that people will be watching them a litle more this year.

I just read where the pubs will be closed this year...Is this an attempt by the trustee's to try and close down the faire? Remember, we hold the high ground, so when will they learn. When they attack us, we just grow stronger. Long live the GLMF !!!
See you all at opening weekend,
Sir Michael

Maybe we should all stand at the Front Gates on Opening Weekend holding hands in a circle like those stalwart Who's in Whoville and sing so the Trustee's can hear us...
