Well, for me, this weekend sucked! The weather was horrible. We tried to get out and about on Saturday, but the rain and cold kept us from seeing much. And there was so much promise early in the day. Then the rain just kept on going and getting harder. We left early so as not to get sick.
Then Sunday was just so hot. Not like it's never been hot at faire, I know I can remember worse days. But we haven't had this kind of weather really at all this summer. Let alone on faire days. So I was just not aclimated for it. Spent most of the day just going from one place to sit to another. Avoiding any kind of crowds or hot sunny areas.
So, we ended up missing almost all the themed acts. And I so wanted to see some of them. Only one we saw was Zoltan.
Here is hoping the last weekend will be better.

I saw Naughty Baudy Babes and the Mockingbird Theatre Company. Did the long version of the parade (what were they thinking) in celebration of "Let's make the pirates die of heat exhaustion day". And then I had something to do so I went home. I spent most of the evening trying to recover from the heat.

Well this weekend was a 50-50 for me. Saturday had me soooo chilled to the bone and then woke up on Sunday and to be true it felt like summer in Ohio to me folks. Finally

Well, to be fair, I did have some fun on Sunday, though it is kind of foggy. I also got some very nice pictures wnenever I get around to getting them up.
So, what is this long version of the parade I keep hearing about? I caught it down by Steve's and that was it.

It was really an up-and-down weekend for all of us. Saturday began fantastically for me, as it was my one shopping day of the season. I got a corset, a skirt, a necklace, and a fantastic leather notebook/notebook holder with a metal clasp that I plan on using to take notes in my college classes this year. Unfortunately, it ended with me throwing up several times behind stage at the chessboard and leaving early...around 5. Thanks again for helping me, first aid <3 . Sunday...yeah, it was hot. I was happy for the sun, but...gah. I think I drank my weight's worth in water several times over. This was the one day that my mother and step-father could make it out, and they just baked all day. Then we got George the Forge to pick us up red bedsheets so that me, the knights, and the king could make togas for after the chessmatch. It was glorious to not have long sleeves on. So, what is this long version of the parade I keep hearing about? I caught it down by Steve's and that was it. Sigh. The complete reason it came about is unknown to me, but...well, I won't get into it. But we went around in an extra huge loop. It started off normally until we got around Stumble Inn. Instead of going straight towards gypsy camp, we veered left to go through faerie forest, up past the pickle goddesses, past town square again, and then down the normal road past gypsy camp to the chess board. By the time we got around to fighting, we were already half dead.

I was there Saturday, and the weather sucked! I'd much rather have a torrential downpour that moves on (like the first day) than continuous drizzle. I ended up leaving after a few hours because of the chill. I can handle getting wet, no problem. But wet and cold? Blech.
I hope the weather is agreeable for the final weekend!

HA !!!... We were tired after a Day at the Faire, but we came home to ---NO ELECTRICITY. Some nearby homeowner had decided to remove some limbs from a tree on his property and they fell on the power lines causing wide-spread local loss of Electric. So,--- we got out the candles, and ate a dinner of cold leftover pizza. No baths for us even though we were feeling pretty sticky. Just washed faces and hands and brushed teeth with what little water was still primed by the electric pump. (Ah-h-mm... ) There was nothing left to do, so we blew out the candles and we all flopped into our beds... This morning the Electric was back on, as usual...

My daughter Jess won the Women's Caber-Toss and the Women's Rock Throw TWICE Sunday at the "Highland Games" ! She weighs about 120 pounds, but they call her "Mighty Mouse" at her Work. (She moves around 200 pound barrels at her Factory Job.) If she had really lived back in Medievel Times she would have been one of those Highland Warrior Lassies that were so scary,--- Probably.

I got to faire on Sunday about noon.....wanted to come a little earlier, but took some extra time making sure the animals here were watered well before I left the farm. I know alot of you already know Larry, but I ran into him and Sarah, and introduced myself to them. Both really great people. Also formally met the Merrymans.........I had seen them at the Faire, and alot of the Halloween parties, but never got around to introducing myself. Went back to chessmatch and felt bad for everybody, because of the heat. Also visited our Gypsies......talked to Divina for a while. Our gypsies are amazing.....I think Trevor has mentioned before there is always something going on in Gypsy camp! Had a great day EXCEPT for the heat. Just can't believe final weekend approaches. I missed his lecture! I was sad I didn't have time to stop. It was interesting, then? Very! I'm fairly conversant in basic European medieval history, but I learned all sorts of intresting things I didn't know, and had fun doing it. Hope Larry asks him back next year!

You all thought the weather was a problem? really? I had a great time all weekend. No hassles out of the ordinary. Great conversations, interesting stuff to see as usual and lots of fun.
but I work in the sun all week so heat and rain are nothing different to me.
